Chapter 8

Marinettes pov:
The right side of my face is burning from where lila hit me and I can hear chat yelling outside the door.
I didn't tell him who it was but he guessed, and I just looked away guilty.
This all started because I was too scared to talk to lila when she kept threatening me about chat and I just looked at her coldly, she'd had enough of me and Kim came into the room just as she started to punch me. Her nails were sharp and that's how my cheek got cut open, the bruises were from her punches. Coming out of my terrible day dream of recalling what happened, I hear the lock turn and chaton appears back in the room.
"I sorted that out, no one is going to hurt you again," I notice he brang a bottle with him. When he notices I'm eyeing it he explains,
"it's antiseptic for your cut, I couldn't find a bandage in our care room however. sorry princess." As he walks over to me I can't help but think "If he really does care so much why kidnap me?".
As he reaches me "can I treat your cheek? It will sting but it will help.".
I turn and face him,
"Chat..?" I ask hesitantly looking down again. "yes marinette" he says calmly.
"You didn't kidnap me for my parents money did you.." the realisation only sets in once I've said it and I look up at him, his green eyes are anxious, and he starts to treat my wound. "No, not for that reason," he breathes out.
"Then why?" I'm getting daring, and as he stays silent I repeat my question again but with more force "why chaton, why did you kidnap me and not someone else?".
His eyes start to blaze, "because I have feelings for you, I have since the moment I met you. You never noticed me like that as a civilian but I'm starting anew as chat noir, you can get to know the real me marinette." He says.
"Do I know you in your civilian form chat?". I ask. He hesitates then answers "yes, but I want you to know this side of me." He softly speaks, and finishes rubbing in the antiseptic and although it stings what he said almost numbs it. He has feelings for me.. as like he loves me?
"Chat.."
"yes mari?"
"Why do you keep leaving me here alone?," I ask on the edge of tears again, "everyone but you treats me like garbage and I'm so scared when your not around. Please stop leaving me with them." It sounds like I'm begging, probably because I am. I feel the need to stay close to him because he protects me. "Marinette.. I, I'm sorry I left you here alone with them, I can't stay forever but I guess I can work out to stay until next monday. How does that sound?" He's actually asking me how I feel about it, "what day is it?" I'm pretty sure it's either Wednesday or thursday.
"It's Wednesday my princess." He says softly but with a grin forming on his handsome face, I can't help but blush now he's looking me dead in the eyes and I have to look away. "Yes, that sounds nice. Thankyou chat."
"Pleasures all mine" he replies, "what would you like for dinner?".

Chats pov:
She asked for anything takeaway, so I got nino to pick up something from a shop that wasn't too far away and we ate together for the first time with me as chat noir, I can't help but love her beautiful face as she tells me about her school life, which I already know, but it's nice to hear about it from her perspective.
After we finished I put the containers on her little table next to the bed and as she lay down I can't help but smile at her beautiful porcelain face mixed with the blushing of her cheeks.
"What are you smiling about kitty?" She asks and for the first time since she has been here I see a real smile form across her face. "Just admiring how beautiful your face is." She blushes even more now so her face is alight with red and she looks away.
"I would like some new clothes.. if someone could get some for me..?" And it only just occurs to me that she hasn't changed in a few days.
And so I start to think, I can have more alone time for her to get to know me as chat if I bring her with me. And I decide on that.
"I have an offer for you but you can't try anything okay" I know I'll probably regret this but she deserves better than this small room.
"I have a house of my own about 30 minutes away. I can take you there and you can shower and have a nice change of clothes whenever you want, but one of my close friends also live with me. His name is Kim, I'm sure you have grown familiar as he is your main guard here." She looks at me as with concern and she hesitates, "is this a joke?" She asks,
"no princess it isn't." I softly laugh, "And I do need to discuss it with Kim first, he will remain your guard if we go there. The house is set with inside and outside security so please don't try and escape." That's a lie, I will need to get it installed soon tho. I think to myself

Marinettes pov:
For the first time since being here I feel hopeful, if I can get away from chat for just a minute I know I could escape.
"Chat that would be amazing, I promise I won't try anything I just don't want to be here anymore." He smiles at me but I can tell that he's still thinking and ultimately regretting what he's just said, " I have to make a phone call quickly so I'll be back in a moment," he kisses my cut cheek and walks out of the room. from the shadow under the door I know he's standing right outside.

Chats pov:
As I leave I don't lock the door behind me, i'm only just standing in front of it so there is no need. After 1 failed attempt at calling Kim I decide to try again and this time he answers on the 5th ring.
"Adrien why are you calling me?
I only just got home.
I swear if I need to come back there," he sighs over dramatically. "No Kim," I laugh " I told marinette I would ask you first but I would like to bring her to our house, this way I can look after her myself and the others don't need to worry," I go to continue but Kim cuts in before me, "no way dude, I need my privacy and home is the only place I can get it." Of course he denies it, he doesn't want some girl living with us, "Kim, would you rather another of what happened tonight need I remind you, or should we avoid all the drama and just let her stay in my room. She won't have access to the rest of the house and I have my own bathroom." I bargain, "you won't even know she is there, however the security will go up, an alarm will be set in place for the front and back door. You can stop it before it goes off by putting a pin in which I will tell you once it's put in place."
There's silence on the other line until, "I'll agree to this if I can get half of next week off, I want to visit my parents. that's my final offer." He always was such a mamas boy. "Alright deal done I'll see you there just after 9." And I hang up.
Done and dusted, but now I need to find someone to take most of Kim's shift next week, I'll probably just ask luka or max. As I return into the room locking the door, I see marinette for once not huddled up in the blanket I gaze at her. "You look like your feeling better." I say happily. "It feels a bit hot in here is all". She half giggles, I love that sound. Clearing my throat "Kim agreed, but it did cause me some trouble." I mumble "your lucky you know. I've never let anyone out of these room prior to their release payments before," she looks at me and I realise I might sound vaguely threatening. "Sorry if that sounded bad mari," I laugh awkwardly
" we will leave in just under 2 hours so make yourself cosy as we wait. Still want me to stay in here with you?" I ask. "yes, i don't like being alone in here." She looks up at me and I just smile and sit on her bed.
As I lay down I put my arms under my head,
I close my eyes and relax, as marinette slowly dozes off beside me I turn and face her, she's closer than I thought taking up the middle part of the bed. She's adorable as she sleeps, her mouth parted slightly open, breathing in a rhythm, i move closer to her and gently stroke her hair. She's a lovely bluenette, I go to kiss her hair when my ring starts to beep. "Shit" I say to myself. my hand is in her hair right next to her ear and she moans a protest as just as quickly as she fell asleep, she wakes up.
"Chat.. you stayed." She says like she doesn't believe it. "Of course, you asked me to after all," I tell her.
"Thank-you" ,and she kisses my cheek, my face burns up and I'm tempted to do more but I resist the urge, she wouldn't like me coming onto her the first time she shows affection towards me. "I'm sorry but I have to transform back, I'll return in 20 minutes." I say sitting up trying to hide my red face in the pale light of the room.
"That's okay I think I might get some actual sleep before we leave." And with that I nod to her and leave locking the door behind me. I'm smiling like an idiot as I make my way to the place we all go to eat and take some Camembert out of the large cafeteria like fridge, placing it on a table near by.
"Plagg claws in" and the little black cat flies out of my ring and onto the table. "About time" he says gulping up all the cheese on the plate.
And I leave him be.
