Chapter 16

Marinettes pov:
It's been about 2 weeks since chat kidnapped me.
it's friday and I'm excited, waiting for him to come home. He said he has a surprise planned for me. Kim's been away somewhere all week so it's been lonely at chats place, but I find things to do,and I relatively decide that I'm going to watch some tv before chat gets back.
As I turn on the tv I realise it's on a news channel so I sit down and watch.
"Don't be bemused, it's just the news. Welcome back citizens of Paris for our late afternoon report." It's the little girls mother. I used to babysit.
I wonder how they are doing.
"The police have discovered a new lead in the missing persons case of marinette dupain-Cheng, they suspect it to be a student who goes to the same high school as the teenage girl." They're talking about me, my mouth gapes open, on the news! And I feel hopeful for once, they are looking for me! Then it hits me, if they find me they will also find chat. don't I want him to be punished for kidnapping me and countless others. But a tiny voice in my head is hoping not.
The tv suddenly turns off and in the black reflection of the screen I see chat standing behind me. I turn around and face him,
"hey chat, how was your day?" I ask over doing it. I feel like a kid whose been caught with their hand in a cookie jar. He looks at me guilty, "you want to go back to them?" He asks, throwing the remote on the couch next to me. Lof course I do, I miss my family and friends." I say,
"even if you couldn't see me again?" The hurt in his voice takes me by surprise and I'm suddenly lost in my thoughts. I still want to be able to see him, and I can't explain why.
"Come," he summons "I still have my surprise set and I want you to see it." He walks around the couch leaning out his hand. I look up at him, I forgot about the surprise. Taking his hand and standing up and he pulls out a blindfold from his side pocket. "I'm taking you outside, so just until we get there I need you to wear this." I smile, I've been waiting so long to get out of this house.

He leads me to a car and puts me in the front passenger seat. I hear him get in the other side and start the ignition. "You can drive noir?" I ask and He laughs "I can do a lot of things princess." And off we go.

About 25 minutes later, he stops and he gets out. He opens my door "I need to carry you for a minute, if that's okay." I can't see where we are but it doesn't sound like somewhere populated. I slowly nod my head and he lifts me out of the car. I hear and feel what is like him taking me into the woods. "Your not gonna murder me are you kitty?" I ask as I flick his bell blindly. It's a gentle ring, and I hear a purr disguised as a laugh. "No princess, I'm not planning on murdering you." He sets me down and I'm standing blindfolded, as he removes the cloth, it takes me a second to realise we're in front of a charming picnic blanket and there are flowers everywhere. "Will you go on a date with me miss marinette?" Chat says to me and I giggle. "Yes I will mr noir." Why did I agree? he beams a handsome smile at me. "For the rest of the afternoon marinette." He starts warily, "your allowed to ask me any questions you want, I will either reply to them by answering the question or saying no." And I nod.

Chats pov:
Marinette spent the entire evening asking me about my life as chat and I feel like she's trusting me more now, most importantly, I'm earning it.
It's gotten late and we are lying on our backs in the soft grass, when I hear what sounds like a car driving near by.
I sit up immediately, something isn't right. "What is it?" Marinette asks oblivious to the car driving towards where we are. "Come, quickly." I say and standing up I take her hand. "It will be easier if I carry you princess." I say expecting her to agree, but she stops and when I tug her hand she tugs it back. "Chat we just had a nice afternoon, what's going on. Why are we leaving so suddenly?" I don't have time to explain, and I hear the car stop and doors shut. "Marinette look, please come with me I'll explain when we get back to the house." Fuck I left the blindfold in the car. There's no time. I pick up marinette and start running through the woods and she holds on tight. About a minute after we left, "Chat I think there are people following us" she whispers in my ear. I look behind me and although we can't see them we can hear them running to catch up. "I know." I say darkly, and she stiffens, "are they here to hurt us," she says with pure terror in her voice. "I don't know yet mari." As I jump up over a fallen tree and marinette loses her grip. "Fuck." I mutter as we trip and land next to the fallen trunk.
"Are you okay?" I ask her, looking for cuts or anything. "Shhhh." She whispers to me and points,
I can now see two black outlined people in the dying light, looking around. They don't know were right next to them. With my black suit I crouch in front of mari's white shirt so they can't see her. All of a sudden marinette reaches over for a large rock and aims it at me, I freeze, she's gonna throw the rock at me and run for help, I think.
But she doesn't, she throws it in the opposite direction of us. "over there!" One of them yells, a male. By the sounds of it, not one I recognise and the two people run off towards the thrown rock. "Let's go," she says to me. Out of my daze I pick her up again and set off towards the house.

As we reach the house it's taken nearly 40 minutes to run and although I'm tired, due to the miraculous I have a lot more agility and stamina than any living being.

Marinettes pov:
I realise we are at a house as chat places me down, I'm guessing it's his house and it's the first time I've seen it from the outside, it's very modern and really beautiful. "Wow" I mutter as I look at it. "You like?" Chat asks, "it's not what I expected." Is all I can fit out until chats ushering me inside. It's 11:37 on the clock as we go into chats room, "I need a shower" chat moans as he walks towards the bathroom. "Wait," I call out, he looks at me. "Do you know who they were?" I ask him. He looks thoughtful for a second "I don't recognise them, no" he's about to close the door "thankyou," I say "for what?" He asks confused. "For carrying me back, I don't think I could have made it walking." And he smirks at me, "it's my pleasure princess," and with that he goes into the bathroom and locks the door.
I change out of a the shirt and pants I was wearing and into one of chats black shirts and some comfy bedwear shorts bought for me, they are a pale blue and hug the little curve I have.
It takes me 5 minutes to find a comb and I get to work going through my hair. As I'm just about finished, he comes out of the shower wearing his black mask, he's not wearing a shirt and he looks hot, especially in his light grey shorts.he could be a model, I think to myself.
I blush and look away, focusing on the last part of my hair. Once it's done I hop into the side of the bed I've claimed as my own.
"I'm sorry that was a disaster," chat looks at me, and sits next to me on the bed, the bathroom light is still on. I cock my head to the side confused, "we were having such a good time and those people ruined it marinette." Ohhhh now I get what he's saying. I put my finger up to his mouth as he goes to continue. "I enjoyed it chat." I smile at him. "I'm just tired is all." And he laughs.
He gets up and turns the main light off I hear him get into bed and then the side lamps on. "Marinette..?" Oh no, he's all serious again, "yes." His eyes soften as he gazes at me. "You were very feisty when I first brought you here," I giggle interrupting him, "yes, I was," and I let him continue "how come you warmed up to me so quickly?" He says smiling. "I'm not complaining, it's just I thought you would absolutely hate me," "don't push your luck chat." I joke and continue,
"My friends and family always told me I'm too nice to other people, especially my friend adrien,he would constantly warn me." I sadden at his name, I wonder how he's going. "You miss him?" Chat asks. "Badly," I half smile "and maybe it's true I am too trusting and too nice but it's who I am. I stand to believe that everyone can change and they just need the right support to do so." I smile at him.
"Is that why you don't hate me?" he awkwardly laughs. "No chat I don't hate you," I giggle "you put effort into making me a... comfortable hostage." I laugh but the thought does make me feel nauseous. " don't get me wrong, i spent my first few hours of wakefulness absolutely hating you." I look up to see anxiety in his eyes, so expressive. "but I feel more safe and comfortable with you around. I quite enjoy your company now." I smile and blush lightly.
"Yes I've noticed, especially when you blush." He teases, brushing my cheek.
And right on cue I look away blushing.
"Don't feel ashamed, I'm irresistible." He pulls one of his full teeth smirks, and I laugh, "you remind me of adrien quite a bit actually, we're very close friends. Always gave great advice and might I add, I could totally kick his ass in pool." I laugh. " but let's keep that between us, he's very competitive." Even chats eyes start to smile and it makes me happy. And as it's become common for chat, he puts his arm up insisting I worm over to him, and I do just that. He lays his arm over my waist. "Adrien must be very lucky to have you think so highly of him. Are, or were you two ever more than friends?" His question shocks me, "uhhhh, " I laugh very coldly "me and adrien are very good friends and that's all it is. Although he is quite attractive, but don't tell him that. it will get to his head," and chat laughs, his alluring all too familiar laugh.
where have I heard it, I know you chat I think to myself.
As I'm looking at his features in the half light, I find myself longing for his lips on mine. I inch closer to chat and I don't think he's caught onto what I'm doing yet, but I lean forward and gently kiss his lips, when I pull back, I see many things reflected in his eyes.
