Chapter 19

Marinettes pov:
"Close your eyes mari, please." Chat says to me as we turn a corner into some trees. It seems like he's trying to hide the car from the road. "How come?" I ask, "I don't like being blind in the woods," I smirk and he does so back. "I know but I want it to be a complete surprise for you." He's still smiling as he gets out of the car, the past days he's been distant so it's a relief to see him back to his playful self. "Ok, i trust you." I step out of the car and I close my eyes, chat picks me up, and I feel warm and safe in his arms. "I see my meal plans are working for you." Way to ruin the mood, "are you calling me fat," I pout at him, I peek one eye open and he's looking down at me, his green electric gaze sparkling. "I said no peeking marinette," he says softly, rubbing his nose against mine. and I close my eye, giggling. "Your really warm," i mumble, leaning my head on his chest, and a rough sound comes from his throat before he can stop it. "Did you just purr at me chaton." I tease him, "shhh," he changes the subject. "We're here."
I'm still in his arms as I open my eyes, a hypnotising view stretches out in front of me. There are the mountains I spy from chats window behind a massive lake, the moon is full and the stars are bright, reflecting off the water. My eyes widen as I try and gain all I can from the image in front of me. "Do you like it?" Chat whispers in my ear anxiously. "Do I like it?" I tease him. "Chat it's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen." And he puts me down. It's colder now I'm out of the car and not in his arms but I can handle it, I'm in long light blue jeans and a light grey sweatshirt. "This was where my mother would take me when I was having a bad day, it's an amazing place to skate when the lakes frozen over." He tells me. I'm mesmerised by my surroundings. "I've never brought anyone here before." He says nervously, I face him and his eyes are beaming, with joy? Amusement? Affection? The last thought makes my breathe catch. And he takes my hand. "Marinette, my princess." He starts and pauses "chat noir," I giggle, "I know you have only met and grown to know me recently, but I've known you for years. I've never had the guts as my civilian form but as chat noir," and I stiffen, what's he getting at. "Will you be my girlfriend princess." He purrs the last part to me, "chat, I care about you I really do," suddenly his face drops, if he would let me finish, "and I won't lie, I think I would really enjoy being with you. But although you know me, I don't know you." He sighs, "I'm just wondering if it would work." it hurts me to say that out loud . "I know mari, and if your mine you can get to know me as chat even more. Although you don't know the identity of my other side you know at least something about me." And I can tell he's now pleading. "And if you don't like me after you give it a try, I won't force you to stay," his face falls saying those last words.
I sit on the ground. Facing the water, it's lapping at the shore about a metre away. Chat comes and sits next to me. If I give him a chance, I could see if I really do feel anything about him, or if it's just a darker part of my mind, doing anything to stay alive in my hostage situation, Like in flight or fight mode. I lean into his shoulder, and his tail wraps around me, I know he's peeking at me but I don't look up. "I want to try." I say, and he turns his body towards me, "you will?" His voice beams and I can't help but smile at the joy on his face, he grabs me in his arms pulling us both up and spins me around, "chaaaat" I squeal enjoying his grip around me. "Sorry princess, I'll put you down." And he does so. I sit down once again, and this time when chat sits he puts his arm up, asking. And I lean into it answering silently. With his arm and tail around me I feel completely safe and content. I'll try kitty. And deep down I really do want this to work.

I wake with a start and I'm really warm. I feel every few seconds a small shudder and as I gain consciousness I realise I'm sitting in chats lap in front of the water.
"Chat? You must be cold." I look up at him, coming into wakefulness. "I'm enjoying my 2 favourite things in the world right now," and it makes me blush but for once I don't look away. "What time is it?" I ask yawning. Chat smiles at me. "It's time to get you back to mine." And still carrying me in his arms he stands up. "Don't you get tired of carrying me?" I ask him sleepily, "mari, the miraculous I possess gives me a lot of strength so you feel like a feather to moi." He's so warm and I'm about to drift to sleep again as we get to the car. "You gotta get in the car now princess," he looks down at me. "I don't want too." I protest as he places me in the cold car seat. "Can you belt yourself in?" He asks me teasingly, "yes I can, and I will." I say acting offended, and chat walks around to the other side of the car.

As we're driving off I spy the clock, "I was asleep out there for two hours?" I ask looking up at him. "I didn't have the heart to wake you." His smile is still beaming at me. "I hate to leave you alone at the house, especially now when I just want to lay in bed with you. But I have a meeting I must attend with Kim," I hate the house at night, "Will you be okay?" I wonder what he's got to do there, then I remember, he's a gang leader. I stifle a shiver and look over to him, "I'll be fine, and when you come back just think of a girl waiting for you." He laughs, "you'll be asleep precious, I'll be back around 3." I nod and we continue driving until we are at the house.

Chats pov:
As marinette quite clumsily slides into bed, I find myself feeling free for the first time since my mother... no don't go there adrien, "are you sure you don't want to keep me warm." Marinettes adorable plead is very tempting, "mari, I'm sorry. This is really important and I need to be there. Go to sleep and I'll be back before you wake up." Pausing for a minute, i Stare at her beauty. As I kiss her forehead, she stiffens, is It too soon? "You scared me," she giggles and relaxes, I cock my head to the side confused. "I thought you left the room but you were right behind me." She explains, And I smirk at her, I enjoyed tonight really enjoyed it, and now that marinette is giving me a chance as chat, I'm not scared of after her release, because there's a big chance now she will still want to see me. "Goodnight purrincess." I roll my r and I get a sleepy grin from mari in return.

And with that I'm de transforming into adrien and getting into the car again, this time towards the gangs hideout.

It's 40 minutes before I arrive and I'm just 10 minutes early, not everyone else is here but that's okay. My main, and most trusted members are all surrounding one of the many tables in our cafeteria like back area.
"Adrien my dude!" Nino pulls me into a hug, "hello adrien, it's been a few days since you've been here. How are things holding up on your side?" Max asks me, "I'm feeling lucky tonight and I think I've figured out the perfect way to take over the Eiffel Tower territory, but I'll discuss it once everyone else is here." And max nods to me, "how was it taking marinette out again?" Kim asks, he's only teasing but I narrow my eyes. Don't ruin your good mood chat, it's okay.
"You did what!" Leila is behind me as I turn around, there goes my good mood. of course she heard that I took marinette out. "Leila look," I try to explain. "No! What is wrong with you adrien!" Her yelling is causing most of the others members to look around. And I'm getting pissed "you took one of the people we kidnapped home and now, Now! your taking her outside!" Uncertain chatter starts around us. Everyone's looking, "is everyone here?" I yell out. "Is anyone missing? These plans are the most important ones this year and I need absolutely everyone," I yell out.
And a voice in the back calls out, "everyone but Kimberly," she's a newbie and is always late, and won't really make a difference.
"We will start without her." I stand up on the table "now to settle that deal with marinette, im not so sure if I'm still going through with her release payments! However I have started a relationship with the young girl, and that is my choice to make." I look around at the shocked faces, Kim and nino stand up next to me, "if adrien decides to date this girl, it's his decision" Kim yells out "and as family we will all support it, even tho she is still technically one of our hostages," Nino also yells but side looks me, it's news to him as well. "Thankyou guys." I quietly say to them. "Now to the mission at hand. We will lead the invasion thursday night next week, here's what we're gonna do."
