Cymphonique POV

I came all the way from New Orleans  to live wit' my cousin, August Alsina , but I ain't expect to be livin' wit' Nicki Minaj either. The real reason why I'm even out here is because of my druken parents. They can't raise me to save their lives so my grandma thought it would be best that I move out to LA. Ion why I couldn't stay there and be wit' my grandma but I guess this is fo' the best. Ion care 'bout livin' in LA wit' August just as long as it don't interfere wit' my plans. 

I wanna play inna NBA 'cause I am so good at it. But, here I am gotta start my life inna news school. Ion wanna start over in a new school tho' but what choice do I have. I have none. So, it shouldn't be as bad as I think it is.

I continue to unpack my suitcase and put some stuff inna draw and some stuff inna clothes. Somebody comes knockin' onna door then opens it up and I see it's just Nicki comin' in. I sigh loudly and continue wit' what I'm doin'.

"Hey Cymphonique," Nicki says.

"Hi," I say dryly.

"You okay?" Nicki said shuttin' the door.

"I'm okay." I lied. I'm not fine, ion wanna be here.

"You don't look or sound that way." Nicki said.

"We should talk." She said.

She comes and sits down on the edge of the bed and I sit beside her. I look down straight to the floor and swing my feet. Nicki crosses her legs, yet I can't help but to feel a bit of intimidation. Ion want her to think she can play mom to me 'cause of her and my cousin together. But, I needa let it be known of how I feel.

"Look, I appreciate that you let me stay here but don't think you can play mom wit' me." I said.

Nicki smacks her teeth. "Look, I am not playin' mom to you, or anythin'. You are August's cousin and I'm goin' to treat you as if you were my own. You are welcome to stay as long as you want, but don't act cute Cymphonique. "

"Sorry." I said.

"Anyway, whenever you're ready we can go out and sightsee or buy things while August is gonna work and find a new school for you." Nicki said as she gets up and hugs me.

"Thank you!" I said wit' a smile.

"You're welcome!" Nicki said leavin' the room.
