The dusty night brings shivers across my body as I stare up at the big house in front of me. It's a lot like something from the movies, red cups scattered all across the garden people laughing and shouting whilst music blares. I walk towards the front of the house where my new group of friends stand awaiting me to join them.

I instantly start to regret my outfit choice; I should have brought a thicker jacket. Instead, I let Romy talk me into believing 'the alcohol will warm you up' but this doesn't help my current situation. I pull my thin denim jacket closer together to attempt to keep the little heat I have in. My dirty blonde curls moving in sync with the wind, you could hear the sound of Romy's heels clicking against the hard concrete floor.

"This house is huge, how many people are even here?" I whisper into my new friend Romy's ear grabbing her arm tightly. she looks around and nervously laughs. We are both out of our league here.

"Are you two coming? Its filling up in there" Cassie shouts, I gulp nervously as I look around the garden. Our eyes meet one another and we nod taking a sigh and a step towards the inside of the house.

We met Cassie in our literature class earlier that day who insisted that we attend the 'biggest party ever' I can see by observing my surroundings that she was not lying. Part of me was dying to go in get drunk and have the best night of my life, the other part? The other part knew this would be a huge mistake on my part, I have never drunk before other than the odd glass of champagne at the family dinners.

When I snap out of my train of thought Cassie had already disappeared into the house to find I presume her boyfriend. I follow Romy into the crowded house and a red cup is placed in my hands, I look around to see Anthony another person from our literature class handing me an alcoholic beverage, a friendly smile on his face. Yep this should take the edge off. We meet our new group of friends who all sit crowded in a living space. We all nod and greet each other with beaming smiles on our faces a few 'Hey's' here and there. I notice a few faces I am not familiar with; one particular face catches my eyes.

This person has devilish brown hair, piercing blue eyes and ruby lips. His figure is built and toned with tattoos covering his arms. I hear my dad's words playing over and over in my mind 'boys like that are bad news'

I find him staring at me with a cold stare so I divert my eyes quickly, my cheeks flaming red. Perching myself down on the sofa next to my roommate and friend I begin to take a sip from my drink, my face instantly scrunching at the sour taste of cherry vodka and lemonade. The boys are muttering quietly and laughing whilst looking over at us. I was curious, curious to know why they was laughing.

Throughout the night as the cherry vodka begins to take over my body, I find myself staring at the tattooed brood in front of me, the way he looks so innocent yet anything but at the same time. A girl with strawberry blonder hair is situated underneath his arm, their hands intertwined. There was something about this girl that bugged me her high-pitched laugh can be heard over the blaring music that surrounds the frat house, or maybe it was that her boobs were basically falling out her top. I mentally scold myself for being so bitchy I don't even know the poor girl who am I to judge.

I shiver at the sight in front of me as bring the red cup to my lips knocking back the remainder of my drink. I need more, I know that I should stop because I can feel the alcohol consuming me. I push myself off the sofa scanning the room for my friend Romy but to my luck she was talking to a boy in which she looked genuinely interested in. I sigh not wanting to interrupt their discussion and make my way through the house into the kitchen where the bottle of vodka was awaiting me, I place my cup down pouring in two shots filling the remainder of the cup with lemonade and ice. I lean against the counter pulling my phone out to wear a text was waiting from my mum.

'I miss you, we all do. It is so quiet here without you, be safe love you- mum xxx' I love that she addressed the text with mum at the end, she forgets the caller ID actually says who she is, I smile at the message placing my phone back in the pocket of my black ripped jeans bringing the cold beverage to my lips once more.

I notice out the corner of my eye a boy staring at me, his cheeks flaming a crimson pink when he realises I caught him. Taking in his appearance he looked so sweet, his gorgeous light brown hair ruffled, his emerald green eyes held a little sparkle. I recognized him from the boys that sat with the mysterious tattooed beau earlier, expect he wasn't like them. The green-eyed boy's skin was clear of tattoos and piercings it was as if he did not fit in with the group, he surrounded himself with.

I smile at him as he makes his way over to me giving me a shy smile back. "Hey, I am Jamie" he introduces himself offering me his hand. I laugh at the gesture and tuck my hair behind my ear.

"Hi Jamie, I am Emery but my friends call me Emmy" I greet shaking his hand.

"Emmy, I like it. What brings you here" I can tell he is nervous because he started rambling "what a stupid thing to say, the party obviously" I can't help myself but laugh at how nervous he is to talk to me.

"Oh no not the party, it's the beautiful art work that's situation all-round the house" I joke gesturing towards the graffiti that was located on the walls. He chuckles at my joke the tension is seen lifting off his shoulders as he becomes more relaxed around me.

"Are you a freshman" he curiously asks. I offer him a nod taking another sip of my drink, I really need to slow down because I am starting to feel very piddled. "I am a sophomore, currently studying business economics" he continues. I like that, it was something I considered as my major but I was sure I wanted to major in literature.

"I am leaning towards literature, but I was thinking maybe business economics" I replied. I must have taken him back at my answer because he was shocked but pleased at my response. I look towards where our group of friends are seated. "Shall we join them" I ask him which earns a nod. Topping my drink up a little more we make our way back over to where Romy, Cassie and the rest of Jamie's friends sit joking along the way.

Once we reach our friends, we sit ourselves in the only two free seats next to each other, Romy raises her eyes brows at me shooting me a little smirk as I laugh at Jamie's poor attempts of a joke. He almost makes me forget the glaring eyes that burn through the side of my head. The tattooed mystery boy's eyes did not leave us as he watched us, I look over at him thinking it would make him stock but instead he remained staring, I continued to try and block him out by focusing more on Jamie who I was learning more about but I find myself getting agitated the alcohol taking over.

"Do you mind staring at us, it's doing my head in" I must said that very loud because I have shocked everyone by my outburst.

He laughs licking his lips. "Don't flatter yourself darling, I wouldn't be staring at you." The bluntness of his words almost sting.

Almost.
