I reached out and shook her hand. "Jig-" I started to introduce myself before I had to stop from embarrassing myself. "Jade" I said finally with a giggle. "Jade Postel. Nice to meet you Billie." I couldn't hide the blush anymore.

She was taken aback, a confused look on her face. She eyed me down. "Um no bitch... What the fuck were you about to call yourself?" She questioned aggressively while laughing. I rolled my eyes while I laughed back.

"It's a long story." I responded, yet she still expected more of an answer. "Jiggy. Thats my nickname at home. I'm so used to being like 'yo what's good, i'm Jiggy' or 'I'm Jigs', that I've accidentally introduced myself as Jiggy. Ha ha." I said sarcastically, "very funny". She was laughing pretty hard once my explanation was over.

"That's sooo bad," she said cracking up, "Jiggy?" She let out between laughs, "that's honestly adorable... but nah, I think I'd prefer Jade."

"Perfectly fine with me, I've been running from Jiggy for the longest," I responded, laughing with her.

"Nice to meet you too," she finally said after calming down. She looked at me with an infectious smile. Almost like she was up to something, studying my eyes.

"Seriously though, what you doing coming here alone?" I asked her, for real this time. There was still a little smile on my face. She shrugged. I think honestly she was in the same boat as me. "Oh c'mon you told the whole dining room I was stood up and you can't tell me why you're here alone. Where your bitches at?" I asked teasingly.

"Alright calm down," she finally let out with a sigh and a laugh. "Did you see who I was sitting with a few minutes ago?"

"No I didn't" I responded. I did. But I didn't want her to know how much I was staring.

"Good. I just dumped him," she admitted with a laugh. Eventually I could see she was a little uneasy talking about it though.

"You had a boyfriend?" I asked, trying not to show how surprised I was. I don't know, she didn't seem like the relationship type.

"No no no, I guess that came out wrong. We were just like seeing each other I guess," she responded reassuringly.

"Why'd you end it? He was cute!" I was so curious to know the answer that I didn't realize what I'd said.

"I thought you didn't see him... And what the fuck I thought you liked girls," Uh oh. She started laughing at me and I couldn't stop blushing.

"I'm bi," I laughed, "And I saw a little but not enough to know who he is and like identify him," I tried to justify myself but I couldn't stop blushing and laughing. We were both cracking up.

"Okay weirdo... He didn't want me he just wanted Billie," she finally answered my question, putting the last word in air quotes. She was still laughing a little bit from before, but I could see her disappointment.

"Damn," I smacked my lips. "That shit sucks, I'm sorry. I mean... I'm probably gonna end it with this girl. I think I can do better." I admitted, trying to make her feel better.

"Yeah. I guess hoes just suck these days huh," she joked. I laughed with her as the waiter came to take our orders. I was still holding my AirPods, in fact, the music was still playing. I put them away and turned off the music while we ordered.

"What were you listening to?" she asked afterwards, gesturing at my phone as I put it in my back pocket.

I quickly looked at the lock screen before putting it away. "Huh. Aaliyah I guess," answering a little surprised because I wondered how my music went from Biggie to Aaliyah.

"I love her style, she was dope as fuck," Billie responded. We spoke as if we'd been friends for a while. "You're into the oldies?"

"I'm into a lil bit of everything honestly," I replied. She nodded in understanding. She went on to talk about an artist she'd been listening to recently, I could tell she was very passionate about the topic. I was only half listening, I couldn't help but admire her. She was fucking gorgeous. I wondered how she managed to pull off the green. Like where did she even get the idea to do that?

She was charming throughout our night. We ate, talked,  and laughed 'til we physically couldn't anymore. Everyone was leaving, we were one of the only tables left. I didn't want the night to end. I couldn't believe how nice and adorable she really was. And she was so funny!

I was so disappointed when the waiter came to take our empty plates and remind us that they were closing fairly soon. I couldn't mask the clear disappointment in my eyes. I could tell she felt a little the same. "Damn. Jade, I'm not gonna lie, you're dope as fuck." She told me, it came out a bit sad because I think we both knew we'd never see each other again.

"Yeah I had a really good night. I'm so glad I decided to come out tonight. You honestly are such a cool person. Plus I enjoyed your music recommendations." I smiled at her. She nodded and smiled back. A silence fell between us, it was odd since we hadn't been in silence this whole time. I needed to see her again, she's so dope. "Billie I uh... Well," I tried to start up the goodbye. "Well could I get your number or snap or something? I don't know how it works when in your position, but you can trust me." I tried to act nonchalant, like it was no big deal.

"Of course," she said with a smile, glad that I asked. I felt so much better, the whole mood shifted. "Just don't make me have to change my number," she joked as she opened her phone for me to add my contact. She did the same on my phone.

I can't believe it. I have Billie Eilish's number. And she's so much cooler than I ever could've imagined.
