Draco's POV
Sev looked at us with sadness in his eyes as I told him of Harry's belongings. His face remained behind his mask of indifference but I could tell it bothered him, perhaps reminding him of himself and his old, battered things at our age. "Don't worry, Draco, we're taking care of him here. Though there is one thing I would like to ask you three, as his friends?" My godfather stayed like a question but we knew he would ask anyway, and he did, "did you know of Mr Potter's disability?"
"Yes, we did," I answered, "he told us on the train yesterday. He said he didn't want people giving him more attention than they already would do he kept it a secret. As far as I know, only the boys in our dorm, Pansy and the Weasley twins from 3rd year know about it."
Severus nodded, "thank you, Draco. Now, you three need to go back to the common room, I'll bring Mr Potter shortly."
We smiled at him slightly and left to go back to the common room like he said.
"I wonder what happened to make Harry need to go to the hospital wing..." Pansy said to herself, thoughtfully. "I hope he's not badly injured, that would be awful. Why do you two think we can't ask him questions? It must be something really awful."
"I don't know, Pans, but we do need to respect him and his business. If he wants to tell us when he comes back, we'll listen but if he doesn't, then that's his choice, right?" I fixed a pointed look at the girl who was known for getting things out of people even if they didn't necessarily want to tell it. She pouted and didn't answer.
Blaise and I shared a look and knew that we would have to stop her from asking Harry anything about his trip to the hospital wing, even if it meant getting an upperclassman to preform a silencing charm on her until she gave up.
Eventually, we made it back to the common room where Theodore Nott sat, reading a book. He looked up when we came in and shut his book. "Where's Potter? He's been gone since before breakfast. Did he get into trouble or something?" The boy fixed us with curious looks.
"I'm not sure we should be telling anyone where he is at the moment, it's his business. He's not in trouble though, he's not done anything bad as far as we know," Blaise spoke for the first time in a while.
When I thought about it, Pansy and Blaise contrasted quite perfectly, I think that's why they're as good of friends as they are. Pansy was loud, and very vocal of her opinions and was a very bubbly, quite likeable extrovert whereas Blaise was quiet, he preferred to work in the background, he was a strong, intelligent, independent person once you got to know him but he was a quiet introvert all the while. Then there was me and Harry. He was a shy, quiet lad who didn't like being in the spotlight and clearly had opinions, quite strong ones at that but didn't say anything out of what seemed to be fear. I was a different story, I was the centre of attention almost everywhere I went, I like being in the spotlight, it makes me feel wanted, needed even. I am very vocal about my opinions and make sure everyone knows exactly what I think. This was probably one of the reasons our friendship works, we may be opposites but we fit well together.
Theodore nodded at him, "that makes sense but doesn't he have detention tonight as well?"
I had forgotten about that, "Er, we're actually not too sure, I guess we'll have to ask him. But I'm going to go to the dorms now so, I'll talk to you later?" Nott nodded and returned to his book as I ascended the stairs to the dorm, Blaise and Pansy following soon after.
I sat on my bed, Blaise on his while Pansy, instead of being a normal human being and sitting on a bed or a chair, sat on one of the two desks with her legs crossed. Gods, that girl is strange sometimes.
"What do you guys wanna do?" Pansy asked, looking at her nails.
We both shrugged and she smirked, her eyes lighting up. Last time that happened was a few weeks ago, at the manor, she even got my mother to help (my own mother!!!) and they both gave me a makeover. There was glitter in my hair for ages after! There was no way in hell that was happening again.
"I know... wait here, imma go get something!" With that, she jumped off of the desk and ran out of the room, in a matter of minutes, she was back holding a small, black bag. I'm sure everyone knows where this is going. "Makeover time boys!" She started pulling out bottles full of weird looking things, glittery eyeshadows, lipglosses and lipsticks of all shades and colours, a lot of hair products and what looked like torture devices. There was no way she was coming near me with any of it.
I quickly shouted, "I volunteer Blaise as sacrifice!" To which I received a murderous glare and a smirk as Pansy beckoned to the poor boy. He didn't move and received a glare. You may be thinking 'oh, but that's not that scary', well, let me tell you, you're wrong! If you think that, you've clearly never crossed Pansy Parkinson, she is scary. She knows everything about everyone and even if she acts dumb, she is the smartest 11 year old girl I have ever met. Over the summer, she perfected several spells, including many jinxes. Pansy is not one to shy away from using her wand when someone defies her.
Eventually, Blaise got up and slowly walked over to our friend, his feet dragging behind him. Oh, if looks could kill, I would be on the floor with 74 daggers in my chest and my eyes gauged out. I couldn't help but laugh at his predicament.
The smirking girl giggled when she heard my laugh and smirked even more, "I don't know what you're laughing at, Pretty Boy, you're next, are you not?" This immediately shut me up but I couldn't help but give my own smirk as I watched Pansy apply the makeup to the poor lad as though she was an expert. I must say, she wasn't half bad at it for someone who rarely wore more than a bit of lipstick and mascara.
It took a lot of arguing but finally, Blaise's face was done and now, she was insisting on 'fixing' his hair. I snickered at his protests because Pansy wouldn't listen anyway. Before he knew it, his hair was getting brushed to get any gel out and styled completely different to how he usually had it. He kept reaching up to try put his hair back to its normal style but every time, he got his hands slapped away.
It was over too soon. I did not under any circumstance, want this to happen. I did not want glitter in my hair again, or the extravagant eye makeup that Pansy had put onto Blaise. Why would anyone wear that? I don't understand girls. Why would they spend hours putting on makeup when they look fine as they are? I know sone girls do it for a confidence boost but others do it for other reasons like to impress boys. That I don't understand. Most guys wouldn't care whether you wore makeup or not, hell, they probably wouldn't notice if you did or not.
I for one could never do anything like that. I can't stand the feel of it, it makes people break out in spots and rashes and it takes up the valuable time I need to style my hair to perfection. Plus, glitter gets E V E R Y W H E R E!
Just as I was getting beckoned towards the devil herself, sat amongst her torture devices, planning out how she would go about my torture, I was saved by the door opening. Blaise quickly ran to the bathroom to wash everything off of his face when he heard someone coming in but wasn't quick enough. The people at the door had already seen him and one of them was laughing while the other was stifling a small smile.
A/N hey guys! How are you all doing today? I hope you're all okay and staying safe during quarantine. It sucks but we have to live with it I suppose. I know this chapter's slightly different from my recent ones, it's definitely got a lighter tone and it's meant to possibly make people smile during this tough time. Please stay inside unless absolutely necessary, a lot of people have died and more could die if the virus gets to them. Thank you for reading!
Also I would just like to point out that this story has reached over 35k views! Excuse me? How??? I don't understand but I'm very grateful to every single person who has read this book. I never thought it would get even a few views, let alone this many. Thank you once again for reading. I love you all.
