Draco's POV

Harry knew what he was doing to himself, I know he did, but still, he allowed himself no time to sleep just to go look in that stupid mirror. I couldn't even tell anyone, if I did, I thought Harry would hate me. Pansy and Hermione would make sure he couldn't go there ever again, probably even report the mirror to Snape or McGonagall to get removed or at least put somewhere the students couldn't find it.

I had to talk to him about it but it seemed like he was avoiding talking to me after we tried confronting him at breakfast about getting sleep.

No matter how hard I tried, he always avoided looking at me and I know how much he hates it when people touch him if he's not expecting it so I wasn't about to do that. I even sat next to him in classes and he still wouldn't talk to me about anything but work. If I tried to bring it up, he'd change the subject, knowing what I was going to say.

It was starting to get on my nerves. I had half a mind to force him to sit down and talk no matter what it took but decided against it.

I waited another few days to see if he'd talk to me, it honestly crushed me that he chose not to talk to me for so long. It hurt, he was my best friend.

One night, I decided to follow him, try convince him not to go back again.

Harry got out of bed once he thought everyone was sleeping and put on his invisibility cloak. That threw me off a little but I'd been there before and I was good at listening for things. I could still follow him by that. Plus, my mother showed me a few spells before I came here, including a very simple tracking spell that I had practiced a little bit.

So, I got out of bed once he left the room and started to follow.

He reached the room in practically no time at all, I stayed outside but watched through the door which wasn't closed properly.

A few candles flickered to life as Harry entered, took off his cloak and sat down in front of the mirror, watching with a small smile on his face.

To my surprise, he started talking quietly.

"I know you can't answer and that this is all an illusion, but I can't help coming back every night. My friends have started to get worried and I feel awful, only Draco knows where I've been and I haven't even talked to him in fear of him getting angry with me. I don't know what to do," he told the mirror, voice wavering as though he were going to cry.

Before I could go inside and speak to him, there was a voice from the tables pushed up against the wall at the side of the room. Harry must've saw who the voice belonged to and turned around in fear.

Professor Dumbledore was stood there.

Harry's eyes misted over slightly as the old man spoke, as if he was under a confundus charm. I suspected that was true from the stories I had heard of the manipulative old fool.

"Harry, my boy, I've been watching you come here every night for weeks now. I trust you know how dangerous this mirror is?" He asked, a twinkle in his eyes and a slight smirk on his face.

Harry responded with practically no emotion, confirming my suspicions of him being under a spell.

"I know, sir. How haven't I seen you here though?"

"An old man learns a few things over the years, my boy. There are many more ways to become invisible than that cloak of yours," he said and I could practically hear the smirk in his voice.

"What is this mirror, professor?"

Dumbledore let out a small sigh, acting as though he'd be sad to tell him, "This mirror shows one's hearts desire. Many a man has found it and all have wasted away in front of it. The happiest man on earth would look into it and see himself just as he is. Anyone can get mesmerised by its images but it's dangerous. That's why it's getting moved tomorrow, Harry, you can't keep coming here."

My friend's eyes (still clouded with the confundus charm), welled with tears as he nodded, "I know, sir."

Dumbledore gave a fake smile and began walking to the door with a smirk before Harry asked a question curiously and the old man turned back around to face him.

"What do you see in the mirror, professor?" He asked.

"Well, I see myself holding a pair of rather nice socks, no one seems to give me any of those, I only get books."

With that, he walked out and luckily didn't see me as he walked the other way.

A/n hey guys, I hope you liked this chapter. I also hope you're all doing well, I had to get a corona test yesterday and now, I'm waiting for the results. It wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be but it hurt a little bit.

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed and have an amazing morning/afternoon/evening/night wherever you are x
