☂Calum☂
After about 15-minutes of continuously sobbing into my arms, I decided to reach for my phone in my right pocket. It was 8:05, meaning there was only 10 minutes left until second period. I was pondering on calling my mom to get me, or to trek the 20-minute walk back to my house.
Sigh.
I didn't feel like bothering my mom at work, and I certainly didn't want to explain myself to her. So, I decided that I was going to ditch school, and maybe never come back again. Wouldn't that be amazing.
Then the realization hit me that I forgot everything in my chemistry class, including my house key.
Fuck. This day couldn't get any worse, I would have to go back in there. I felt my heart begin to race, and I was not planning on having another panic attack over this.
I stood up, and stretched my legs by pacing around. Pacing, was good. Moving, was good. It allowed me to collect myself.
Then it hit me, I'll just ask Luke to grab my backpack, and bring it to me here. I quickly pulled up his name on my phone, and shot him a text.

Recieved: 8:09Shit, I'll swing by and get it when first period ends.
Reason number 100, to why I love Luke Hemmings. He never judges me, and never questions me. I honestly have no idea what I would do without him.
I stopped pacing around, and ended up sitting on the bench. I breathed out and saw my breath, when did it get so damn cold. I shivered, and pulled on the sleeves of my shirt.
I would put on my jacket, but of course that was in my backpack, which I currently did not have in my possession. Just great.
I remained seated, and waited for Luke to come with my backpack. I heard, through the walls, the second-period bell ringing, so he shouldn't be to long. He better hurry before I freeze my ass off.
Within a couple minutes I heard the door to the garden open, and I looked up to see the my blonde friend walking through it. I stood up, and almost ran to him.
"Thank God, Luke tha-" Luke didn't seem to have my backpack, which caused my heart to drop.
"I'm sorry Cal, but when I went to your chemistry class for your backpack it was gone, and when I asked your teacher where it was she said one of your friends took it, which doesn't make sense be-" Luke rambled, before I cut him off.
"What other friends do I have, exactly?" I pondered. Luke was my only "real" friend, so I literally have no idea who the hell would take my backpack.
"That's what I was trying to say, Cal. So, some asshole probably stole it." Luke looked even madder then I was. He always was a bit too overprotective of me.
"Okay, there is literally nothing in there that anyone would want to steal, I just needed to get my house key, and a jacket. This makes no sense." I was so fucking confused.
"Did the teacher say who this "friend" was that took it?" I asked, hoping for an answer.
"No, I didn't even bother asking. Sorry, Cal." He said while reaching a hand up to scratch his head.
"Do you want to borrow the spare key I have to your house?" Luke asked.
We gave each other spare keys knowing that one day, being the idiots we are, would lock ourselves out. I almost forgot he had mine. Still, it left me a little unnerved knowing that whoever had my backpack, also had a key to my house.
"Oh my god, yes! Thanks Luke, I totally owe you one." I went in to give him a quick hug.
He laughed and hugged me back, then reached for his key lanyard in his pocket, and took off my house key. "I'm going to try and figure out who took your backpack, and if I find anything out I'll text you." He said while handing me the spare key.
I took the key from his hand and shoved it in my pocket. "Thanks again, man." I said before turning to walk through the woods to get too my house.
"You sure you're going to be okay, Cal?" Luke asked, sounding concerned.
I turned my head to look at him over my shoulder. "I'll be fine, I think i'm emotionally stable enough to walk home." I stated, to make him less worried.
"Alright, but i'm coming over as soon as school ends, so you can tell me what exactly happened." He shouted to me.
"Got it!" I waved to him, and started my 20-minute walk home.
