☂Calum☂

The squeak I let out while falling only made things more embarrassing. My face was on fire, and all I wanted to do was die. I was currently "one" with the cold dirt, and I think even got some in my mouth.

Just great.

The sound of Ashton's laugh rung throughout the forest, and into my ears. I had to blink several times to refrain myself from crying.

The ground was colder than the temperature outside. I shivered, and sucked in a harsh breath.

For some reason I was frozen in my position, and I was unable to get up.

"Aren't you going to get up, or am I going to have to carry you to my car?" I couldn't see his face, but I just knew he had a smug smile on it.

Carry me to his car? I was dumbfounded. "Uh-uh that won't be necessary." I mumbled lamely, before quickly peeling myself from the cold earth.

I brushed myself off, and noticed my left arm was bleeding. It wasn't gushing blood, but it was a pretty deep cut.

"Shit." I shouted breathlessly, gripping my left elbow to get a better view of the cut.

My clothes appeared to be permanently caked in dirt, and my arm was bleeding. It looked as if I had a fight with someone.

When I looked up, Ashton was merely a couple feet away. I gasped when I felt his hand touch my arm. His face was with a look of concern.

I retracted my arm, with a hiss of pain, as his fingers brush over my injury. "My mom's a doctor, so I have a medical kit in my car." He said while releasing my arm, and then ruffling his hair.

His mom's a fucking doctor, are you serious? He has a fucking medical kit? It's no wonder he's a genius.

"Okay." I found myself answering without my mind fully processing what was coming out of my mouth.

The smile on his face could light up an entire city. I was swooning.

"I could still carry you, if you want." He said cheekily. I laughed and shook my head, my eyes averted to my gray, mud covered, vans.

"Maybe another time." I said with confidence. Where the hell did that come from? I think the dirt that got in my mouth caused a chain reaction.

"Oh, before I forget, I um have something of yours." Ashton said as I looked up at him in confusion. Before I could reply, he walked to a nearby tree, and picked up my backpack.

My face turned from a smile into a look of terror. I could feel the embarrassment of this morning returning to me.

I bit my lip, holding back tears once again. So, he was the "friend" who picked up my backpack.

"S-sorry." I stuttered out before snatching my backpack from his, large, hands.

This was probably the worst, and best day of my life. I don't know if that's possible, but it is.

"Sorry for what, exactly?" He asked like he didn't know what I was talking about.

I shivered, but before I could say anything Ashton spoke again. "Never mind that for now, let's just go to my car. It's cold as shit out here."

I nodded, and pulled out the jacket I had in my backpack. I carefully slid it on, along with my backpack, making sure I dodged the cut on my arm.

Just wait until I tell Luke about this. A thrill of excitement washed over my body.

A/N: sorry this is a bit late, holiday season is now, and i'm very busy. hope y'all had a good christmas! So, what do you guys think? Do you like Ashton, so far?
