Whip waved to Mom. She and the other available Riders had left to help 'the Rescue Riders' with some 'Yournsky' problem while Zephyr and Nuffink were trying to convince their parents to let them stay on The Edge.
"Now, Zephyr - we came to The Edge when we were - experienced Riders." Hiccup said, following his daughter out of his hut. "Minus Snotlout." Astrid chuckled. "Really not helping," Hiccup muttered.
"But we can be experienced too - oo - ahh!" Zephyr jumped backwards and teetered on the edge of the ramp they were walking down before falling. Immediately, both Whiteout and Whiplash darted to her aid. Whiplash snatched Zephyr up, making Whiteout halt as she reached the point just past where her friend had been. "Hey! That was my rescue!"
"And now it's mine." Whiplash huffed, dropping Zephyr on the Night Light's back before landing next to Whip again. "Whiplash will be here to protect us, and he's an experienced dragon." Whip pointed out.
"Hm...I don't know. Honey?" Hiccup turned to his wife. "Well, you know, if it were us, we'd have gotten out here on our own, too, and, remember what your Dad said when you convinced him?" Astrid said. "What he'd say!? What he'd say!?" Zephyr asked. "Probably no." Whiplash snorted.
"'We couldn't stop him from going if we wanted to," Hiccup mimicked his father's voice, according to Torch almost perfectly. "'so, we might as well support him.'" "He's got a point there, chief," Whiplash said. "No kidding!" Robbie laughed, lashing his tail.
"Please, Dad?" Nuffink pleaded. "We'll be good!" "And safe," Whip added. "Yeah, and we'll train our dragons really good, and feed them daily, and take them out on flights, and -" Ac started. "Alright, alright!" Hiccup said, raising his hands. The Junior Riders held their breath for a moment. "You can stay." Hiccup decided. The group broke out into cheers. "But!" Hiccup said. "We'll be checking on you. Right, Toothless?"
Toothless roared in agreement, his eyes glowing as he gazed at his daughter and son. "Can't I stay here?" Crystal, the Light Fury, tilted her head. "There's a lot fewer humans around." She added, shaking herself. "And somebody needs to keep an eye on our children."
"Fine, fine." Toothless grumbled. "Yes!" Whiteout and Shadow hissed in delighted unison. "Crystal wants to stay here - where there are fewer humans out and about, and where she can keep an eye on her children." Whip explained. "Alright." Hiccup tried holding his hand out toward her, but she snarled, arching her back, and flapped up to the roof of an orange hut. She roared. "Safe travels, Toothless!"
"Be safe, Crystal." Toothless roared back. "You too, kids." "When are we not safe?" Whiteout asked. Toothless scowled at them. "Yeah - uh - don't answer that! Bye!" Shadow waved with his wing, and the dragons roared their farewells.
"Bye, Dad!" Whiteout and Shadow roared. "Stay safe!" Crystal called. "See you soon!" Robbie and Torch roared. "I'll make sure nobody dies!" Whiplash, a Singetail that has died, added.
"Bye Mom! Bye, Dad!" Zephyr and Nuffink called. "See you later, chief!" Loutnut called. "See you later!" Ac called. "See you around!" Whip added nervously.
"So...since we're on our own now..." Ac suddenly produced a fish, catching each of the dragons' attention. "Who wants to train?"
(Hey, guys! Lemme know who you think Ac, Zephyr (as a teenager), Nuffink (as a teenager), Loutnut, Whiplash, Kiara, Frostflake, Aphira, Whip, and - you get the idea - sound like to you! I'd really like to know!)
