14:Fourteen

The night is getting deeper and Meryl just let herself enjoy the party even with Michael around. Though she tried approaching Pierce without Michael noticing, Pierce is the one who is really distancing himself from her.

"Meryl!"A voice suddenly called for her that made her spun around. It is Michael.

"Yeah?"She asked and he suddenly gripped her arm tight.

"M-Michael, what are you doing?"She asked in shock and she is relieved that the music in the venue is loud enough to conceal that she is screaming.

"Come with me."Michael uttered with gritted teeth.

"S-stop, you're hurting me!"Meryl yelled and he dragged her out of the venue.

"M-Michael, p-please, y-you are hurting m-me."Meryl cried, for she feels his nails digging onto her skin and she suddenly felt her body hit the hard wall that made her gasp.

"That man who kissed you."Michael uttered.

"Why are you chasing him, huh?"Michael asked and he quickly wrapped his free hand around her neck.

"N-no!"Meryl cried, trying to break free from his tight grip.

"I-I c-can't breathe."Meryl whispered.

"Tell me, are you having an affair?"Michael roared and Meryl can't even answer him. She is shaking in fear and at the same time, trying to catch her breathe.

"L-let g-go of m-me, p-please."Meryl almost breathlessly pleaded.

"The man wanted to get you from me and you are not seeing that. Are you tryna play games here, huh?Swimming two rivers at once?"Michael asked, enraged, as he tighten his grip on her neck and on her arm.

"Hey!"A voice suddenly yelled and Michael quickly received a punch on his jaw.

"You do NOT hurt a woman."That voice uttered and it is Pierce. Meryl immediately hugged him and she is shaking, with tears rolling down her cheeks.

"You are stealing my wife. You will never get away from this."Michael said sternly and Pierce shook his head.

"No. You will never get away with what you did."Pierce said and he ushered Meryl out of the area right away.

"A-Apollo."Meryl suddenly whispered.

"W-We need to get Apollo."Meryl added and Pierce nodded.

"C'mon, get in the car."Pierce said softly as he help her.

"We will go get Apollo then you both will stay at our apartment."Pierce said after he went in the car and Meryl looked at him.

"Fasten your seatbelt."Pierce said almost a whisper and Meryl just obliged. He quickly drove to Meryl's apartment and Meryl packed her and Apollo's clothes that is suited for quite a long time. Pierce slowly carried Apollo and that made the little boy groan.

"Sshhh, papa's here."Pierce whispered and Apollo hugged his neck.

They headed straight to Pierce's apartment, and he carefully laid Apollo beside Selene. He kissed the two's forehead and he looked at Meryl.

"Let's go to the living room."Pierce said, holding her hand and he gently dragged her out of the room where the kids are sleeping.

He made her sit on the sofa and Pierce headed to his kitchen and grabbed an ice pack for her. He came back to where she is and he gently pulled her arm.

"Is it the first time that he did that to you?"Pierce asked as he hold the ice pack on her arm in place.

"N-no."She answered almost a whisper that made his forehead crease.
