Chapter 13

___________________________________________________________ 'Surprise,' Everyone yelled.
I looked around, nearly having tears in my eyes from the thoughtfulness of everyone. They had got out tables of delicious food and had decorated the room to look beautiful. Tom, Anne, Lourdes, Ben, Hal, Karen, Matt, Jimmy and Captain Weaver were all here for me.
'Thank you guys, this is so nice,' I smiled.
'Well we all came for the cake,' Hal smirked.
'Love ya too Hal,' I rolled my eyes.
'Watch out Karen'll be pissed'.
'Karen is right behind you and besides there are other hot people in the Second Mass so I can date em,' Karen said.
Hal walked behind Karen and put his hands on her waist, 'Now now Nadler. Besides they ain't gonna be as hot as me'.
Hal and Karen started kissing, the full on passionate kind that made Matt go Ew.
Tom cleared his throat, 'Well we did not need to see that. Come on Emma, we need to cut up the cake'.
I walked up and took a scalpel off Tom (yeah it's weird but we didn't exactly have a knife to cut it so improvisation was necessary. Actually that's a lie but cutting a cake with a machete ain't gonna be good).
Matt went up closer, trying to get some cake. Ben was right next to me as well so I figured they both wanted cake real bad.
Matt whispered something in my ear then moved back, 'If you hit the bottom you have to kiss the closest boy'.
I smiled at him and cut several pieces, all hitting the bottom.
Matt laughed, 'Emma has to kiss Ben, ew'.
'Benjy won't mind,' Hal smirked, stopping kissing Karen for a while.
'I don't think Emma would either,' Lourdes murmured, loud enough for everyone to hear.
Ben and I turned the colour of the strawberry on top of the cake. Everyone stared at us in anticipation.
'C'mere then loverboy,' I said gesturing for him to come.
Ben and I walked up to each other.
'Ready,' I winked.
'No,' he grimaced but them came onto me like a storm, kissing a like there was no tomorrow, which frankly was possible.
When we finished I took my arms off his neck and wiped my mouth. Everyone started clapping, re-enacting the scene in the Fault in Our Stars in the Anne Frank roof.
'Um Ben you realise that it was a kiss on the cheek right,' Tom said, sounding kinda happy though.
'No I did not,' he smiled.
I took Bens hand in mine and stood up straight, 'I have an announcement to make'.
'Wait your pregnant,' Lourdes laughed.
'Yeah Lourdes I'm totally pregnant,' I said rolling my eyes, 'No Ben and I are together'.
Lourdes put her hand on her chin, 'So you want to get pregnant'.
I chucked a t shirt at her.
'Actually she probably should get pregnant to repopulate the Earth,' Weaver said.
'Oh my god Dan, I'm flipping seventeen and Ben is fourteen, we are not going to get pregnant,' I argued.
'Obviously Ben isn't he's a guy and we can't exactly get pregnant. I bet Ben wants to get you pregnant,' Hal smirked.
Ben blushed crazily, 'Shut it Hal, I love her but not that way'.
'Thank you,' I said, 'Wait so you aren't attracted to me that way'.
'No, no I am but I don't want to get you pregnant'.
'Good I don't exactly need to be right now'.
'But Emma still wants to do him,' Lourdes said.
'Jesus guys. I.do.not.want.to.get.pregnant'.
Anne grabbed Toms gun and fired a shot at the roof. We all shut up.
'Now that you are quiet, Tom and I are planning on getting pregnant sometime when the timing is right,' she said.
'Only coz Dad wants to do you,' Hal murmured.
Tom raised his eyebrows, 'You can talk Hal. You nearly scared the bejesus out of Karen because she got a late period meaning that you did her, multiple times I suppose. I am a grown man so I can anyway'.
'Yeah but that only makes it more ew because your 43,' Hal said.
'Everyone you do realise that Matt is in this room,' I yelled.
'Hi,' Matt waved.
'Oops,' Tom murmured.
'Mattyboy you didn't hear anything,' Hal said.
'You were talking about getting Emma pregnant and that Ben wanted too, but she is already,' Matt said.
'What?' Anne asked.
'This kid is magic, I don't even know that and somehow I am,' I laughed.
'Emma kissed Ben so now she is pregnant. Why aren't you though Karen coz you kiss Hal for most of the day,' Matt clearly stated.
'Um who told you that Matty?' Lourdes asked.
'Mummy. I asked her how you have babies and she said you have to love someone a lot to and if you kiss someone you obviously like them because you do something gross and you wouldn't want to be in someone else's mouth of you didn't love them,' Matt stated.
'It doesn't work that way Matt, I'm not pregnant,' I said, 'I love Ben but I don't want to get pregnant right now'.
'Right now, so you do want to someday,' Lourdes asked.
'You do to Lourdes. Wouldn't it be nice to raise a family,' I sighed.
'Yeah you made your point. Now can we please eat some cake'.
I handed out pieces of cake and we ate it and played a very competitive game of monopoly. It was a fun morning, Karen even got chocolate milk from the canteen and I drunk like five cups. It was my favourite drink pre-invasion. Matt beat me and had seven cups.
Alice walked inside, 'Sorry to interrupt but lunch is ready'.
Tom burped chocolaty air out, 'Oops pardon me'.
We walked through the corridors back to the basketball court. They had cooked a delicious soup with very stale bread, but it was still really good. Ben took a spaghetti string and put it under his nose. Matt fell into a giggling fit.
'Karate is like a mountain that you have to climb to achieve the view. Would you like to climb it young master Matt, or you gorgeous Miss Emma?' Ben said in a questionable Chinese accent.
'I'm not much of a mountain climber,' I said.
'I watched Kung Fu Panda so I don't need to know anything. I'm already black belt,' Matt grinned.
Ben ruffled Matts hair, 'Matt, Kung Fu and Karate are different'.
'Whatever,' Matt said.
'Now Matt you aren't a teenager don't act like one,' Tom said.
I laughed from behind my napkin.
Weaver spoke to me and Ben, 'I want you two to scout for food. You are partners now. Emma will help you Anne but now and then I need her to do missions, she seemed very helpful from what Tom told me'.
Anne dropped her bread and face palmed. Lourdes sighed and took my hand. Matt nearly cried.
Tom looked shocked, 'No not Ben, he just came back, you can't do this Weaver'.
Weaver got angry, 'I am your captain I do what I want. Besides do you want him in here with them,' Dan gestured to the soldiers of the Second Mass who were eying Ben with disgust but like he was an alien himself, 'Emma will protect him with her life'.
I gulped, 'Yeah, yeah I will'.
And I was sure of it. I had only known Ben for a couple of hours and I had already kissed him, had already said I would die for him.
