Humans are born into chaos.
The world is moving forward,
always moving.
As we grow, we learn how to ride a bike,
how to take care of scraped knees,
how to cook a meal.
Who teaches us how to survive the complexities of life?
No one tells you how much your first love will hurt.
No one informs you that,
"hey, this person you love?
One day you won't recognize them when you pass them on the street."
You start out as strangers and become strangers again.
No one says that people will hurt you so much that you spend years looking over your shoulder
and
checking every face you pass to make sure it's not him.
No one tells that you that putting a blade to your skin isn't the answer.
Carving 'LOVE' into your wrist or slicing up your hips feels good until it doesn't,
and all you feel is guilt.
No one warns you that there'll be times where you hate yourself and your body so much that you shower in the dark.
When you begin to grasp the concept of your own body, your mom doesn't sit you down and say
"honey, one day you'll truly hate yourself."
She hopes it'll never get to that point,
but hope is only empty prayers to a god that isn't listening.
Here is where you learn how to survive the
hard,
shitty,
painful things that life throws at you.
Your first love will hurt.
A lot.
Acknowledge the hurt, then let that person go.
People will hurt you, and you'll be looking out for others like them.
It's okay to be cautious, but don't waste your life away searching every face in the crowd.
They can't hurt you unless you let them.
Hurting yourself feels good for a while, but it doesn't solve anything.
Contact someone you trust, and be honest.
Censoring your feelings doesn't help you get better.
Your body carries you through life.
Thank it for carrying you this far and hopefully even farther.
All bodies are beautiful and all people are beautiful.
You are a precious being and many people love you very much.
Turn to them when you can't turn to yourself.
Tell these things to someone else.
One day, they'll thank you for it.
