As Annie stomped down the hall, she heard someone running after her. She didn't feel like turning. She already knew it was Jayden. Annie quickly slipped into the library, and went to the way back.
She didn't know if Jayden had seen her come in there or not, so she waited. A few minutes had passed by, so she grabbed her backpack and was about to get up."There you are." She heard behind her. Annie whipped her head and saw Jayden walking up to her. She plopped her backpack back on the ground and slouched in her chair. Jayden sat down across from her and looked her over.
"Annie I know you like him." Jayden said softly. The statement caught Annie off guard, she sat straight in her chair and looked Jayden in the eyes.
"No I don't." Annie said, she didn't even know what "liking" was. She had never even made time in her life to have a boyfriend.
"Annie it's so obvious, I know you're scared of getting your feelings hurt, but you don't have to deny it." Jayden said placing her hand on Annie's. Annie snatched her hand away and looked off at a stack of books sitting on another table.
"Jayden, liking someone takes up too much time. It's not even possible for me to know what that feels like, because I've never had feelings for someone." Annie said looking back at her.
"Then embrace the feelings your having! Dare to risk! Dare to love! You act way too uptight and mature, live a little. Let down your hair Annie!" Jayden said. Annie sighed. If only she could, her whole life had been dedicated to the spy academy. The college she went to when she was eighteen was a college for agents and spies. No fun, lots of discipline and lots of work. Annie looked back over at the stack of books for a distraction, when one caught her attention.
Annie rose from her chair and looked at it without touching it. It read "Leaking Gas". Something prickled her skin as she read it. She quickly ran to her backpack and put on latex gloves and a plastic bag. She grabbed the book ever so carefully and placed it in the bag. She then put it in her back pack. The excitement made her forget all about Jayden, she quickly looked up at Jayden and saw a weird expression across her face.
"Sorry, project my class is having us work on." Annie said with a forced laugh. Jayden nodded her head and acted like she understood. But Annie could tell she was still confused. Annie thought quickly of something different to talk about. Then what Kenzie said crossed her mind.
"Can I ask you a serious question?" Annie asked. Jayden leaned forward in her chair.
"You can ask me anything." Jayden said, giving her a reassuring smile. Annie sucked in a breath, not sure if she wanted to hear the answer, but she wanted to change the subject..... And she wanted to know a little bit.
"Did Asher tell you what happened in the building?" Annie asked quietly.
Annie watched Jayden's face twist into a scared expression. Jayden took a deep sigh and looked Annie in the eyes.
"He did..." She said very quietly. Annie closed her eyes and thought of the horrible dreams she had had for the past few nights, she wondered if they were accurate.
"Please tell me what happened." Annie said leaning forward in her chair. As if Jayden didn't want to be close, she leaned back on her chair.
"Okay..." Jayden said nervously, she didn't want to traumatize Annie anymore then already was.....
Asher's side:
As Asher sat with Kenzie, he found himself thinking of other things as she chatted about her nails and going shopping. Every time they were together that's all she ever talked about.
