From that moment on, it was like a dream. Jen ran out of the car and towards the beach. The boys ran after her as soon as they saw her fleeing. Her shoes touched the sand, making her toes jealous. Off came the shoes, socks included, and her feet finally touched the soft, warm sand. She took a deep breathe and slowly let it out. Somehow she felt emotional. She had never been allowed this type of freedom for the last 6 years. Something about being alone on the beach released a weight she had been feeling on her shoulders for some time. She followed the sand down towards the sea. The sweats she was wearing were oversized and the jumper was already making her feel hot under the sun. The mask, concealing her identity, hid her smile and tear that had just fallen from one of her eyes. Once she reached the water, she pulled up the legs of her trousers and waltz in. The ice cold feeling sent her flying back with a laugh. The boys stood back, still on the path, watching the beautiful girl in front of them dance around in the now wet sand.

"Beautiful," was all Mew could say. The waves crashing against the coastal rocks, the crumpled up sand due to Jen's dancing, the scene in front of him was just beautiful.

"Yeah... she is." Mew turned his gaze to Gulf who was focused on something other than the scenery. His eyes followed her figure up and down the sand, the way she ran in and out of the water and squealed every time, the way she held the bottoms of his trousers to stop them from getting wet.

"This was nice of you," Mew continued to stare at Gulf who was blushing from his sudden outburst and now sudden statement. "to do this for her."

"She just seemed desperate that's all." Gulf was deflecting.

"I don't know what's happened to make you feel this way towards idols but desperate or not, what you did was nice and you didn't have to do that." Mew said point blank, at that moment he made it his mission to get through to Gulf. He had this hard exterior that he portrayed but Mew was sure there was at least something soft about him, the scene in front of them being exhibit A. Gulf just scoffed, unable to find the words to retaliate. He knew fine well what happened but he wasn't about to blurt that out to someone that he hardly knew. Maybe one day he'd tell but certainly not today.
