"Speak English..." Jun stammered, not being able to properly read English just yet.
"For international fans, we just want to say thank you so much for staying with us this long. We love you guys so much and we wouldn't be able to live this incredible life if it weren't for you. We are going to take our well needed rest. This is definitely not a break up, just to make that clear. We will be back after 6 months hopefully with another album and tour, so please we hope that you stay with us for as long as possible. Thank you." Being the only English native speaker of course had its perks, however, she did wish some of the other members had learned, to help her out with international tours and promotions.
Jen, Jisoo, Jun and Sun all waved goodbye to the camera, promising to keep fans updated about their break and keep face. It was hard for all of them saying goodbye but they knew it was needed. They had worked the hardest over the last 6 years and were at their peak.
"What do we do now?" Sun, the eldest, looked around the group after shutting off the camera. "This is so weird." Everyone had blank faces, they were now truly on their break and had the opportunity to do anything they wanted.
"Drink?" Jun staggered up towards the kitchen, everyone slowly following after. He poured everyone a small glass. "Here's to travelling the world." Jun held his up first.
"Here's to finally starting my own clothing line." Jisoo next.
"Here's to opening my own art gallery." Sun lifted his glass; everyone giving him a reassuring smile. His art was littered all around the dorm; on every wall in every room. They all admired his artistry. They looked towards Jen who was still thinking of something she wanted to achieve during their break. There was a long pause.
"Here's to mental health, family and always staying in touch." Jen raised her glass, completing the circle.
"You always have the right thing to say," Jisoo whispered through teary eyes. "I'm really going to miss you guys." Everyone clinked their glasses together before embracing each other in a group hug. They were a family of their own, never out of sight for more than a few minutes. It was going to be strange being on their own for the next 6 months. Of course they were always going to be in contact and probably seeing each other quite often but it was still emotional in the moment.
"Jesus, ya'll are so sappy." Jen said wiping away her already fallen tear. Jun squeezed everyone that bit tighter, everyone moaning about not being able to breathe; a good kind of breathless.
Everyone had retired to their separate rooms in the dorm after a few more glasses of wine and more sappy stories about their time together. Jisoo had entered Jen's room and stumbled onto the bed next to her. Jen offered a hand to hold and Jisoo accepted.
"I can't help but think we're saying goodbye to each other." Jisoo had always been very dependant on the others, she was a single child and felt like they were the brothers and sister she never had. "I'm gonna miss you the most you know, we're sisters. You better call me everyday!" Jen chuckled.
"I'll call you so often you'll get sick of me." Jisoo squeezed her hand tighter. She knew she was joking but she needed reassurance. "Hey, I promise." She turned on her side, now both facing each other. "You know, if you're not okay with this break, you can just say. We all know how hard this is going to be for you." In all seriousness, Jisoo needed the break too. She was in high demand for modelling and was barely off her feet with the band too. She was sad to say goodbye to everyone but they needed time to theirselves and she needed it too; no matter how much she denied it.
"Hey, I'm going to be the next big thing in the fashion world. Just you wait, you'll be taking my clothes home next." Jisoo rolled onto her back, facing the ceiling, to stop any approaching tears from escaping down the sides of her face.
"Well I would be honoured to give you some promotion, for a discounted fee of course." They both remained silent. Jisoo knew she was trying to make light of the situation, and she was grateful, but there was nothing left to say. And with that, both girls dosed off quickly after; clutching each others hands.
