Today was the day I brought my sweet boy home. I couldn't hide my excitement either. Gryffin would officially be a Blake. Since I'm marrying Finn eventually-maybe two years from now I'm still unsure about what happened exactly-I figured Gryffin could have his last name.

We're filling out official documents for Shasta too so she will also be a Blake. I thought it was weird that during the apocalypse paperwork was important but Nixon said that if we do need some kind of proof they're our kids once the world is in order again we'll have it. We'll be getting birth certificates and official adoption papers for both kids so Shasta was going with us as well.

You could tell she was excited too. But not as excited as me. My family was going to get bigger and I was totally okay with that. Especially since our new addition was perfect for our crazy and dysfunctional family. He was going to fit right in.

I couldn't sit still the whole drive. I could tell Finn was getting agitated with my constant moving but I couldn't help it. I was bringing Gryffin home. Never will he be abandoned again. I made a promise and I intend to keep it.

"Will you stop tweaking please? You're driving me nuts. We're almost there just chill."

I glared at Finn and tried to sit still but it was harder than it sounds. I have so much excitement running through my body I have to move to get it out. It's like a bad itch I can't scratch.

"I know you're not exactly thrilled about this but I am. We're right to bring him home Finn. He deserves a loving family. He's never had one before. He wants a cool super hero mommy so we're giving him one."

Finn watched me for a moment before sighing and looking back out the window. He'll warm up to him. I know he will. Shasta and I both ran inside when I parked the jeep outside of the orphanage. I barreled past Nixon and ran around to Gryffin's corner but he wasn't there. My heart dropped. Where is he? I went back around and he was standing behind the door I rushed through. And his smile was as big as mine.

"I tried to tell you but you move too fast. He's been waiting by the door for over an hour." Nixon chuckled as I approached them. Gryffin waved as I approached them and I waved back.

Am I really going home with you today? He signed, watching my hands impatiently for my response.

Yes. And it's going to be your home forever. I promise.

He tackled my legs and hugged them tight as Shasta joined the love fest too. Finn stood outside the door and watched us. I could feel he thought it was cute through the bond but he was also hesitant and slightly irritable. He can be that way. I'll love Gryffin enough for the both of us until he loves him too.

"Okay. Follow me this way." Nixon said as he led us down the hall and into an office where Natasha was sitting. I sat down in one chair as Finn took the other one. Both Shasta and Gryffin crawled onto my lap and each sat on a leg. I hugged them both against me, feeling so happy and full of love for both of them. I pushed those feelings through the bond I shared with Finn and watched him soften just the slightest bit. It wasn't much but it's progress.

"Okay so we're going to take care of Shasta's paperwork first. I'm sure Nixon explained this to you but these papers are just for precaution. Once the world is back in order paperwork might be important. Especially for children. We do this so you can also have something showing they're yours as well. It's mostly for just a keepsake but you never know so safe rather than sorry.

"As the adoptive mother I need you to fill out almost everything except for where the adoptive father will sign and print his name in a few places. You will fill out all of the information for yourself and for him as well. Then we're going to need your daughter's full name, her birthday, her weight and size at birth, hair color and eye color, her gender, and where she was born. If you're not sure just wing it. Then you'll print and sign your full name here and here for the father."
