Nova
I heard a knock on the door and went to answer it. I was expecting it to be Nixon here to bother me again but it was actually Chaska. Huh. That's a nice surprise. Gryffin smiled and waved when he saw him. Chaska returned the gesture but his smile was forced. I wonder what's wrong.
"Hello Chaska." I greeted as I opened the door.
"Nova. May I speak with you for a moment?"
Out of all of the Resistants he was the only one I trusted so I opened the door and allowed him to enter my home. He's a good friend to me too so I'll let it go. He gave me a nervous look and wrung his hands together as he paced back and forth.
"Are you okay? Is something wrong?" I asked worriedly as I placed a hand on his shoulder.
"My grandmother wants to meet you. She said she had visions involving you and she wants to share them with you. But she would not tell me if they were good or bad and that is why I am nervous."
I gave him a reassuring smile and pat his shoulder. "I'll meet her. Good or bad if she had visions of me I would like to know what she saw. I do believe in that kind of thing so I'm interested. Let me tell Finn I'm leaving just wait here."
He nodded so I told Gryffin to wait here for a moment and ran up the steps to my room, flopping down onto Finn's back and kissing his cheek when he groaned at me.
"I'm going to Chaska's for a little while. I have to do something. I'll talk to you about it when I get back."
He nodded and tilted his head back to kiss me before I climbed off of him and went back down to Chaska.
"Are you sure you want to meet her? She is not pleasant. I do enjoy our friendship and I am afraid she will frighten you away."
I snorted out a laugh. Nothing scares me. I turned and signed to Gryffin we were going to Chaska's and headed outside to my jeep with both of them right behind me.
"You won't lose my friendship. I'm sure it'll be fine." I reassured him as we drove towards his house. He stood in front of the door and refused to go in. This was really bothering him.
"Chaska. It's okay. I promise you won't lose my friendship. I'd like to know what she has to say."
He sighed and slowly opened the door and stepped inside. His grandmother came from her room and stared at me with narrowed eyes. I narrowed mine back.
"I have been waiting for you. Chaska you may leave. And take the boy with you."
I signed to Gryffin to go with Chaska and he shook his head, holding tight onto my leg. I rubbed his head and dropped down to his level with a reassuring smile on my face. It's only for a little bit. He shook his head again and fell into me.
"Fine. The boy may stay. Chaska you still leave."
He gave me another nervous look and I smiled and waved as he walked back outside. She gestured for me to sit on the couch and pulled out a box from under the table as Gryffin and I sat down.
"To explain I must first engrave the symbols on your skin. Only then you can understand and know their meaning."
Wait like...tattoos? I've always liked looking at them and wanted to get a few but I didn't think I could. At least during the apocalypse anyways. I was going to get one on my twenty-first birthday but Finch pussied out and I didn't want to go alone so I didn't. But I love tattoos. I've always wanted them. And these were cool too because they had a meaning behind them. I was finally getting a tattoo!
"How many are we talking here?" I asked as she began to set everything up.
"Three. One here, here, and here. Do you agree?" She said as she touched the back of my neck, the back of my right elbow, and the spot just above my heart. I watched her carefully as she continued setting everything up anyways. Guess she knew my answer.
