CRIES AND SCREAMES

⋆﹥━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━﹤⋆

"This entire arena seems to be layout like a clock," Katniss began, "With a new threat every hour but they stay only within their wedge. It all starts with the lightning, then the blood rain, fog, monkeys. That's the first four hours. At ten, that big wave hits from over there."

The group walked along the stone middle to the cornucopia where they wanted to reevaluate the situation and stock up on anything they may have missed the first time around. Evelyn limped in front of Finnick where he could keep an eye on her.

"Wiress, you are a genius," he remarked as he walked past the District 3 woman, who was still in shock.

"The tail points at twelve," Peeta informed as he looked up at the metal cornucopia before them where few weapons still resided.

"That is where the lightning strikes at noon and midnight," Katniss notified the group, "It strikes that big tree."

Beetee seemed to inspect the tree through the thick lenses of his glasses before smiling, "Good."

Wiress began to sing a nursery rhyme, one that Evelyn would sing to Aeliana when she was still a baby. It made the hairs on the back of her neck stand up, almost scaring her. She had a bad feeling in her stomach like it was all going to go wrong and soon. Pure anxiety pooling beneath her skin.

Regardless, Evelyn sat on the black sand beside Peeta where he began to draw in the sand with the blade of the machete, "So twelve to one, lightning. One to two is blood. Then fog and then the monkeys."

Evelyn rubbed the back of her head with frustration, the singing from Wiress only making her more anxious. "And then ten to eleven, the wave," Katniss interrupted, "What about everything else? Did you guys see anything?"

"Nothing but blood," Johanna shrugged.

"It doesn't matter," Peeta continued to drag the blade along the grains of sand, "As long as we steer clear of whichever sector is active, we'll be safe."

"Yeah, relatively speaking," he offered his hand down to Evelyn who gratefully took it. Wiress gasped out in pain, making them all look over to see the male tribute from District 1, Gloss, remove his knife from her body. Katniss was first by firing an arrow into his chest just as two simultaneous cannons sounded. Gloss and Wiress gone in an instant.

Johanna suddenly pushed Katniss down and forcefully aimed her axe at Cashmere, the District 1 female who also happened to be Gloss' sister. Another cannon sounded. The other half of the career pack made themselves seen by releasing a battle cry as they began to attack Finnick, making Evelyn ready her sword to block Enobaria's attack. But the two retreated. Peeta tried to run past Finnick and Evelyn, the man stopped Peeta as Evelyn joined Katniss and Johanna to chase them down.

Something rumbled beneath their feet just as the cornucopia seemed to shift, knocking them all down to the jagged rocks where they began to cling on for dear life as it began to spin. Evelyn wondered what would happen if she fell off, she would probably get stuck in the current and run out of air. She was brought back to reality once more when Katniss screamed. The District 22 female beginning to slip further down the mound of rock; Evelyn and Johanna both having to save the girl by taking a hand each. Evelyn cried out in pain as she felt her wound open up once more, blood harshly dripping down her hands and seeping through Finnick's bandage.
