Robin had called an ambulance for her friend, Max after he had fallen out of a tree. Max was complaining about pains all over his body, but more so in his leg. Robin suspected he may have broken his leg or something, she really didn't know but she was panicking.

"Max, everything's going to be alright!" She said to her friend on the ground in pain, "the ambulance is on its way".

A few moments later the ambulance arrived and loaded Max into the back. They asked her questions about who he was and how to contact his parents.

"His names Max, and here's his mother phone number, his fathers on a business trip abroad somewhere", she says handing the paramedic her phone.

"Thanks....?", the paramedic pauses, waiting for the girl to tell her name.

"Robin", the girl answers with as much of a smile that she could muster. She got into the back of the ambulance and we start heading for the nearest hospital.

"Thanks, Robin", she says as she starts using the girl phone to call Max's mother.

"Hello, is this Max's Mother?", the paramedic says over the phone.

"Yes, who is this? why are you calling from my son's friends phone? What happened?", the woman got more panicked with each question.

"I'm a paramedic and I'm afraid to inform you that your son has fallen out of a tree and we suspect he may have a broken leg, your son's friend called an ambulance and lent me her phone to call you", the paramedic informs the woman on the phone.

"OMG, uh... I'm coming to the hospital straight away, which one are you going to?", she said concern in her voice.

"Eternia Heights Central", the paramedic stated.

"On my way!", the woman said as she hangs up.

The paramedic hands Robin her phone back, and thanks to her for letting her use it. The rest of the way to the hospital was silent.

Max's mother, left her work early explaining to her boss, what had happened. He absolutely understood and said for her to take as much time as she needed. She got into her car and started driving towards the hospital. She phoned her husband who was on a business trip, to inform him of the situation but it went straight to voicemail.

"Robert, it's me, Anna, this is about Max, there was an accident I'm on the way to the hospital now please, ring me whe......" the call was cut off when her car had collided with the car in front of her.

Max was resting in his hospital bed, with his leg in a cast and the doctor had left to get him crutches. He was talking with his best friend Robin, who he had forgiven for not flying up and getting, he understood she was scared to use her powers, everyone was, plus he could read her mind and found out everything she had done. For example, calling ambulance and contacting his mother, etc.

"Hey, where do you think my mother is?", the boy turned to his friend and asked with a slightly concerned expression.

"I'm sure, she'll be here soon!", his friend tried to reassure him, will place her hand in his shoulder.

"Excuse me, are you Max Marley?", a Doctor comes in and asked with a sad expression on his face.

"Yes, that's me!", Max responds growing more concerned.

"My name is Dr John Smith, and I'm afraid I have some bad news, I've already alerted your father and he's on his way home from his business trip," the doctor said to the boy.

"Wha... What is it?, Whaa... What's the baa...bad news?", Max said very concerned now, almost on the verge of crying.

The doctor let out a sigh before making his way over to the bed Max was in. "Your mother was in a car accident on her way here, I'm... I'm afraid she didn't make it...", the doctor said.

"WHAT?!, WHAT DO YOU MEAN SHE DIDNT MAKE IT?", Max shouted at the doctor.

He started crying, and hyperventilating, he was staring into space, then he looked at his foot that was in a cast, and started crying more.

"This is all my fault!!, she wouldn't have been in the car, on her way to the hospital if it wasn't for me....", Max says sobbing as he does with his face in his hands.

"Oh Max, this isn't your fault!!", Robin says trying to comfort her friend. She was also crying at this point and the doctor had left to tend to other patients.

"Your right! Robin, this isn't my fault...", he says lifting his head from his hand to look at his friend, "It's yours!", he said with disgust and anger in his voice.

"Max?", Robin said slightly flinching at her friends change in demeanour.

"THIS IS YOUR FAULT, IF YOU HAD FLOWN UP TO SAVE ME, I WOULDNT HAVE BROKEN MY LEG AND MY MOTHER WOULD STILL BE ALIVE!!", he says getting angrier as he said each word, "GET OUT ROBIN!".

"Max?", Robin said hurt and confused.

"I SAID GET OUT!", Max yelled again.

And with that Robin left the hospital, the two who were once best friends, never saw or talked to each other again...

... until a certain meeting in a certain college hallway.
