Nick's POV

Desiree and I decided to bring the donuts and coffee to Joe's for breakfast. As a thank you for making pancakes for us yesterday morning. I went to knock on the door but found it already opened. As we both walked inside I realized I probably should've knocked first. There was Joe shirtless on the couch with Shay fast asleep on top. I noticed the spilt soda can laying on the floor next to them. I guess they had a good time last night. Desiree laughed as she placed everything on the counter and set down plates. I stared at them a while studying the way Shay's nostrils softly yet slowly breathed in and out. She looked so calm that I didn't dare want to wake her. As I turned around I ran into the counter besides me. I bit my lip trying not to say anything. I then heard Joe and Shay getting up. I hung down my embarrassed face realizing Joe and Shay were probably just as embarrassed.

"You know there's a thing called-Nick!"

A thing called Nick? Before I realized it Shay was on top of me giving me hugs and kisses all over my face. "Oh my god I missed you so much!" Joe laughed as he placed on his shirt then stepping in the sticky soda below him. He sighed as he left to clean it up. I picked Shay up in the air and swung her around. It was as if I lifted a small child.

"Wow, you haven't changed a bit. I would've expected maybe a few more inches." As I placed her back down she heavily sighed.

"That's what everyone says." After she said that Joe returned with a wet mop and Shay was hugging Desiree good morning. Once she turned around and noticed Joe she annoyedly asked,

"Joe, what did you spill this time?" He looked from what he was doing and defended himself by saying.

"Hey, this wasn't me. You must of kicked the can while you were getting on top of me last night." I tried to hold in my laughter as her face instantly turned red. She spun around at me and snapped,

"Shut the fuck up Nick!" We all couldn't hold in our laughter after that. Hearing her swear is the funniest thing since it's so out of her character. Plus she's so small that makes it all more amusing. Joe placed the mop beside the couch and gave her a hug.

"Awww your so cute when your mad." Shay rolled her eyes before leaving the room. My guess is to take a shower. Joe finished mopping and quickly followed after her. We heard the door slam then Joe walking back in the room with his head down. Ouch, was all I could think of. I took a bite out of the only sprinkled donut left. As I was about to take another one Desiree grabbed my wist.

"Did you check?" I looked at her confused.

"Did I check what?"

"What do you mean, 'did I check what?' Did you check your blood?" I stopped eating once I realized I left my bag at her house.

"Um I left it at your place," was all I could say back.

"You what?! Nick! How could be so stupid!" She yelled throwing the donut in my face. Joe got up and announced,

"Don't worry Des, we have another here." He then left to the hallway and returned back with my other black case. After handing to me I asked him,

"And you couldn't of announced that 5 seconds before I got impaled by my donut?" Joe shrugged his shoulders and continued to eat. I gave Des a look before checking myself out.

"Alright, I'm fine to eat one. I just have to place the numbers in when I'm done." I then grabbed the donut from the floor and took another bite. Des looked at me with disgust.

"Ew, Nick please I can get you another one," she said reaching in to grab one. I raised my hand up.

"No thank you, I'm perfectly happy with my sprinkled one. But thank you," I responded placing another bite.

"Yeah Des, no one messes with Nick's sprinkled donuts. He hardly gets to eat one."

"Well I'm sorry for watching out for my boyfriend's health. Would you say anything to him if I wasn't here?" Joe shook his head.

"Probably not, he knows what he's doing. He's not dumb." Des grabbed her keys and started for the door. I ran after her and pulled her around once she entered the hallway. She threw my hands off her.

"What do you want? You heard him, apparently you can take care of yourself!" she cried out. I placed my hands back on her shoulders.

"I think it's really sweet that you're looking out for me. Don't mind Joe, he's being a bit of a ass right now. If you hadn't of said anything. I probably would've forgotten." I explained placing the right side of her hair be hide her ears.
"I don't know what I would do if you left me now." She smiled slightly before giving me a small kiss.

"Thank you, could we go back inside now?" She asked grabbing my hand.

"Of course," I smiled back at her. I opened the door and found my brother making out with his girl again. They stopped abruptly and stared back at us. I leaned down to Des ear and whispered,

"We really need to start knocking."
