Picture of Josh ------------------------------->

*Mads POV*

Matt glared at Josh and I momentarily before bursting into a ball of hate.

“How dare you touch her? She’s my little sister and you thought you could just sleep with her? Take away her virginity and leave her?!” Matt yelled. I wanted to cry, I wanted to cry so badly but I couldn’t.

“Matt…” Josh started.

“Don’t even try to explain! You don’t care about her!” Matt growled.

“I do,” Matt stared at Josh. Then Matt moved closer and grabbed Josh’s neck.

“What’d you say?”

“I care about her,” Josh choked out.

“Matt stop! Please!” I cried. Tears poured down my face. “Matt stop! Just stop!” I went over and grabbed his arm. I made him turn and look at me. “Please…” I whispered. Matt released his grip on Josh’s throat.

“Get some clothes and then get the fuck out of my house,” Matt growled to Josh. Josh scrambled to get his shirt on and ran past us. I waited for Matt to yell and scream at me but it didn’t come.

“Matt…”

“Put some clothes on Madeline,” He mumbled then left my room. I grabbed my sweatpants and t-shirt and put them on.

I opened my door and walked down the hall. I went down the stairs and found Matt in the kitchen, his head in his hands.

“Matty…” I said quietly. He looked up at me.

“Why would you do that Mads? What possessed you to do that?” Matt questioned. I sighed.

“I don’t know. After we left Noah’s we went to a different party out of town and had a good time. He helped me forget about…dad…even if it was for only a few hours,” Matt grimaced at my mention to our father. Of course I couldn’t tell him about the drugs and the guys.

“I just don’t want you getting hurt Mads. You know how Josh is. I know he’s my best friend and all I just don’t really want you around him, not right now at least,” I moved around the counter and went to my brother. I wrapped my arms around his torso and we stayed like that for what felt like ever.

“I won’t get hurt Matty. But thank you for caring so much,” I whispered.

“Go to bed Mads, it’s late.” I glanced up at the clock on our stove and read the digital numbers, 3:45.

“See you in the morning” I said.

“It already is morning Mads” Matt chuckled.

“You know what I meant” I shuffled my feet along the hardwood floor and up the stairs to my room. I opened the door and plopped on my bed. I got under my bed sheets and stared up at the ceiling. I laid there for a while, just thinking over how great and horrible my life has been throughout the years. I really needed a distraction from everything. I reached over for my phone to check the time. It was already 4:30; I’d been lying here for 45 minutes and hadn’t gotten to sleep yet. Great, just great. I pushed the sheets off myself and got out of bed. I wondered out into the hall and downstairs. I could hear the faint sound of the TV from the other side of the house. I decided to investigate. I walked into the living room. Matt was lying on the couch, asleep, and the TV was turned on. I grabbed the remote and clicked the TV off. I shuffled over to Matt and shook his shoulder.
