Chapter 18

  Even though we talked things over I could tell Sophie was still very upset with me. Why didn't I tell her last night? Because you didn't want to ruin our perfect night. Now that she knows, you have nothing to hide. She knows Stacy is your past. I shook my head, how did I get such a smart wolf? You got lucky.

  "Hey Marcus that douche Alonzo is here. I almost killed him, I got to go. I need to run this off." Killed him? My twin is a gentle soul he wouldn't harm a fly. "What do you mean you almost killed him." I laughed. He looked towards Sophie, "I'm glad she found you and left that pack. She is too special for what was going to happen to her. I gotta go." He looked into my eyes and I knew he already loved my mate. He would protect her like he would protect us. To him Sophie was like his baby sister.

  "Ok go for your run. We will be here when you get back." He took off, "Sophie, Alpha Alonzo is here. I'm going to Terence's study want to join me. I'm sure they have a plan by now." I saw her stiffen. "Babe you don't have to go I will talk to them. Stay here and watch a movie." She smiled at me and I swear everything just stopped. My heart skipped a beat, how did I get so lucky? I walked up the stairs heading to my Alpha's study.

°°Sophie P.O.V°°

  I watched Marcus walk up the stairs, I was still royally pissed at him. I know that was the past and I know he cares for me but it hurt like hell hearing that skank say those things. I looked back at the tv nothing really on when my stomach made a horribly embarrassing sound. I hadn't ate breakfast and it was already almost lunch time.

  I walked in the kitchen and stopped, there was one of the pack members by the fridge drinking some water. I remembered him from the clearing but didn't know his name. "Hi, I'm Sophie." I felt a little nervous when he just quirked his eyebrow at me. "My name is Jonathan." He smiled at me.

  "So you live here too?" He laughed, "Yea, practically lived here my whole life." I walked toward the fridge opening it to see what was to eat. "So a house full of bachelors. I wonder how y'all got so big since Marcus said none of you can cook?" He laughed again.

  "Pizza and burgers. Sometimes we have one of the pack members cook for us. Not often though." I looked in the freezer and sure enough plenty of frozen pizza and tv dinners. "Do y'all have any chicken?" I asked. Maybe I can make chicken alfredo. "Yea we have a deep freezer down stairs. I will bring you some."

  He walked to a door that must have led to a basement. I gathered all the ingredients I needed to make the meal. I was surprised that they have all the things I needed. I can even make fresh bread. I started on the bread first since it would take the longest. I was so caught up in what I was doing I didn't notice he was back. "So is there anything you need me to help you with?"

  I nearly jumped out of my skin. I laughed nervously, "Your pretty light on your feet there big guy. Uh yea, put the chicken in some hot water to defrost." We talked about everything and nothing and before you know it the bread was done and so was my sauce. I learned he had a twin that he hadn't seen in a long time. That he was some kind of inforcer and he was pretty deadly. "Ok call the boys down it's lunch time."

  As I gathered all the dishes and set the table I could hear them coming down the stairs. I heard appreciative growls coming from the living room. Alpha Terence was the first to walk in, taking a big whiff and smiling like he hasn't ate in years. I couldnt help but chuckle. "C'mon guys gather around there's plenty of food."

  I didn't have to say that twice. Marcus and Alpha Alonzo were the last to enter. I immediately looked down at my feet. "Welcome Alpha Alonzo, please take a seat. Would you like some vino?" He looked at me and nodded. I walked out to get the chilled wine. First I poured him some then asked around the table to see if anybody else wanted some wine. All said no they had got some of my homemade lemonade instead.

  Not really knowing what to do I just stood there waiting to be called again. "What are you still standing there, serve me." Alpha Alonzo said clearly irritated. I grabbed his plate but cringed when I felt Marcus's hand on my wrist. "My mate serves no one. Babe come sit down and eat." I looked up into his eyes, I saw the determination in his beautiful brown eyes. I couldn't help but smile.

  He took the plate from me and set it back in front of Alonzo. "I'm pretty sure you know how to serve yourself." Chuckling came from around the table. I sat down next to Marcus and started reaching for the garlic bread I made when Alpha Alonzo grabbed my hand and pushed it out the way. "Know your place girl." Reaching for the same piece of bread I was reaching for but before he could grab it Marcus had his hand on his wrist practically crushing it making Alonzo wince in pain.

  "I don't care who you are, never and I mean never talk to her like that or put your hands on my mate again. Do you understand me?" I could see Marcus holding on tighter, waiting for an answer. "Yes, I understand." Alpha Alonzo looked straight at me, I can see the hate he had in his eyes.

  I looked down again and put my hands in my lap. Marcus grabbed the bread and put it on my plate. He lifted my chin and made me look into his eyes. "You are my mate, you will not look to your feet again. He is not your Alpha, you are not his servant." He smiled at me. I smiled back and looked around the table. Mostly everyone smiled at me but some like Jonathan and Rick were staring Alpha Alonzo down.

  This lunch was awkward at first. Alpha Terence broke the silence talking about the plan that they had came up with. Ranger and his army buddies were on board and after lunch I would contact Emilio. The ascension wasn't until midnight, we had to contact Emilio get him down here, rescue my aunt and spend the rest of my life happily with Marcus. Sounded good in theory.

Im still not feeling good but the best thing about being laid up in bed is that I have a lot of free time lol hope u enjoy this chapter.
