Walking out into the clearing, finally facing Emilio hopefully this nightmare will end today. I watched as Emilio face lit up as soon as I stepped out behind Alpha Terence. Stacy was there next to him scowling at me. Why was she even here? I looked to Terence for an answer but he just shrugged his shoulders.
"Mi tesoro, come to me lets go, mi amorè." I shuddered at the sound of his voice. Raw and raspy, his clothes were wrinkled and filthy. Dark circles under his eyes, he looked as if he lost a considerable amount of weight. Shaking my head, "Release Rebecca, then I will go with you. Willingly, but only when I know she is safe."
He eyed me suspiciously. Pacing back and forth looking at me from my head down to my toes. "Are you marked? Did he taste what is mine? Alonzo, my friend is she tainted?" Flinching as if he slapped me, tainted? Alpha Alonzo smiled encouragingly at me before answering him.
"Emiliano, I told you she wasn't worth your time. She is beneath us. All this," gesturing with his arms towards me and the rest of the pack around us, "that you have done is for nothing. She has been marked and mated. Probably already carrying his pup." I gasped that bastard how could he. I was so enraged I didn't realize that I growled at my Alpha.
I saw the different emotions run through Emilio's eyes before they settled on rage. "You whore! You're mine! How can you even be with these moolies? Don't you have any self respect." Terence tightened his hand holding mine as soon as the word was spoken.
Alonzo moved towards Emilio trying to calm him down but it was too late. He shifted and attacked. Terence's men were caught off guard. One lay motionless blood soaking the beautiful white snow. I watched as his eyes glazed over, his life force leaving his body. I didn't have time to weep for the loss of life because all hell was breaking loose around me.
We were double crossed. Seeing my old pack mates coming out of the forest I knew then that Alonzo had planned this. Even with the peace treaty signed he was humiliated more than once. He had too much pride to just let it go. Being tugged past the war that broke out I heard Terence yelling something at me but I was still too shocked to pay attention.
"SHIFT NOW!" Finally the fog was lifted and I understood what Alpha Terence was trying to tell me. I shifted and ran as fast as I could through the dense forest. I had to get to somewhere safe. Colton's was the only place I knew how to get to. I wasn't that far away now.
I switched directions heading towards Coltons territory when I was rammed hard into tree. Seeing a wolf stalking towards me before the darkness took over, my mind screamed for Marcus.
