I fell hard, as if the wind was knocked out of me. Looking around there was only Jonathan kneeling beside me. I felt panic then nothing. Sophie? Baby are you ok? Nothing. Looking towards the clearing focusing on the sounds around me. Then I heard it, the shuffling and howls. My stomach dropped fearing the worst.
"Jonathan? What's going on?" But before he could answer men were pouring out of the forest, surrounding us. Some had already shifted, circling us as if we were prey. We were out numbered and caught off guard. I heard a cry behind me. Turning I saw Rebecca awake shaking with fear.
Linking with TJ, finding out that Alonzo double crossed us and they were ambushed. Sophie ran he was behind her when 3 wolves attacked him. Once he finished them off he went to search for her but her scent disappeared.
Pure panic set in. Where was my Sophie? More wolves were leaving the forest I sensed my pack mates. I shifted and attacked the closest wolf to me. Finishing him off 2 more attacked me. One jumping on my back while the other attacked from the front. Rolling to the side, finally getting the young pup off me and deflecting the one in front. Attacking and defeating them was easier than I thought.
Looking around seeing the sloppiness in their fighting. The flaws in their quick attacks not observing their opponents. They were untrained, young, easy to kill. It was a massacre. Why would he use these young pups? Unless they were decoys, a distraction.
Terence. They are distracting us. They can't even fight. Where's Alpha Alonzo and Emilio? I shift back to human form. Most of the other pack surrendered. Knowing they were no match for us. "You're right Marcus. This was too easy. After they attacked Alonzo and Emilio ran towards the mountains." Terence replys.
Pacing back and forth, "Which way did Sophie go?" I moved closer to Tj trying to sound more confident than I felt. "She doesn't know this forest. My only guess would be towards Colton's pack. It was the direction she was heading before I lost her scent. Marcus that wasn't the only scent I caught." I snapped my head up. Did Emilio and Alonzo catch up to her?
"Who's scent did you catch?"
