At the Palace

It had been about two months since you'd returned to heaven. Heaven was flourishing once more ever since the return of their beloved princess. Though you'd wonder how you were still so beloved after all the treason you'd committed. The queen had pulled many strings to keep the actions of her daughter secret. The things you did in hell were despicable to angel-kind as your mother went through a lot of trouble to conceal the truths. Yet even after all the work put into making life for you to go back to normal, you weren't the same.

The things you'd realized that day in hell were some things you'd never forget. Things that would haunt you forever, and they clearly did. The fact that your one true love lied to you was enough to depress you for life. But it was worse than that, he murdered you. You'd lost all interest in life anymore. What was the point of living anymore anyways? No one truly loved you. They all just used you to gain what they'd wanted.

Now you were once again back in the grand palace as your mother's puppet for success. Though your mother wasn't always like this. She used to be kind, caring, motherly and sweet. Its surprising how the riches of heaven can change a person. She got so used to the aristocratic life that she got corrupted. She's gone far too deep into the abyss of darkness to ever return and you knew this very well.

She even went as far as courting you with a man of royal status to make sure her reign lasts. And today was the day you met the man, at a royal dinner. But you were least interested in the idea. The last thing you wanted was marriage. After what happened with Alastor you were just too crestfallen to do anything.

You spent the day laying in your bed, curled up under the sheets. In your hand was a pretty blue hair pin. It was the one Lilith had gifted to you on your wedding day. You gazed at it, at it's beauty and fragility, just like you. You could spend the rest of your life hiding in your room, but there was no way for that. Just then you heard a knock on the door.

"Come in." You said as you got up in bed. Still in your night gown, your (h/c) hair a royal mess.

The door slowly opened to reveal a sweet looking lady who seemed to be in her 20's. She had long brunette hair tied up into French braids. A set of brown eyes studded her peachy skin. She had plump rosy lips and a few freckles decorating her cheeks. Of course not to forget she had a set of beautiful white wings as well.

"Princess (y/n). I've brought you your breakfast. It's your favourite, (fave breakfast) (f/d)!", she spoke in a sweet and soft tone.

She then raised the tray in her hand to show you your breakfast. But you didn't have an appetite. So you just slumped back into bed with a frown on your face. Raising your hand up in the air, you proceeded to look at the hair pin and then at the little ring that rested on your finger. You couldn't deny it, you missed him gravely. But it wasn't meant to be. Seeing this the lady who entered your room gave out a deep sigh.

"Come on (y/n). You haven't been eating properly and tonight is the day you meet your suitor. You have to eat or else you'll look dreadful, worse yet you might faint.", she said and walked over to you and sat down beside you.

"But why do I bother Diane? The one man I loved turned out to be my murderer. What better could this new idiot mom chose for me be?", you said unenthusiastically.

"(Y/n)! Don't call him an idiot.", Diane said with a gasp. "You haven't even met him yet. Besides, it was partially your mistake for loving a demon. You know they can't be trusted. But I'm sure you'll find true love.", she said to you.

You just stared at her with a blank expression. She could tell you weren't going to change your mind that easy.

"Alright, we'll think about the dinner later. There's still lots of time. For now you need to get out of bed, sleepy head!", she said with a laugh and then began to drag you out of bed.

"B-but Diane! Wait, alright I'll get up, just let me go." You half shouted in a frenzy.

She quickly let you go and burst into fit of laughter. You gave her a pout and and crossed your arms as you got out of bed.

"Sorry. Now let's get you ready.", she said and then walked over to your walk-in wardrobe.

You sighed and followed behind her. She helped you pick out a nice (f/c) gown and then to change and fix your hair. Once you were done you two came back into your bedroom and she sat down next to you on your bed. She spent the next couple of minutes talking to you about the daily castle happenings as you ate your breakfast.

"......also rumor has it that the royal butler has a thing for the head maid!", she said with a squeal.

"Frederick and Miss Selandra? Wow.....now that explains all the cute glances he used to give her.", you chuckled at the memory of him glancing at Miss Selandra.

"Oh. I almost forgot. The queen had asked you to meet her this afternoon before the dinner. She said she had something to discuss with you.", Diane let out suddenly as she remembered the message.

Hearing that made your laughs quickly fade away. How you dreaded her little lectures on how to be proper and perfect. To be on your best behaviour when you had visitors. Its not like you weren't already super obedient, she just felt the need to remind you every day to make sure you behaved. No wonder you ran away.

You suddenly lost your appetite. So you finished your meal and got up. Diane noticed your sudden change of mood so she didn't bother pestering you with questions. She quickly cleared your plates and went out the door. Leaving you once again, on your own in your grand, yet lonely bedroom. Diane knew it was best to leave you in solitude. It's what you did when you got depressed and not even the funniest comedian could cheer you up on such occasions. So you spent what little time you had left before the days agenda's began, sulking in your room.

A little whiles later you got out of you room and went to your mother. As expected she lectured you on being good and polite to the guests and suitor. After about a long dreaded hour of good manners classes, she finally dismissed you and you went back to your room to get ready for the grand dinner. Diane awaited you in your room and you two started preparing as soon as you got back.
