IV. Deadly Red

~Killu's POV~

“And just who the hell are you?!” a voice too rough for a girl said behind me.

I felt Alluka’s grip tightens but I eased it by giving him an assuring look. He hesitantly nod and lets go. I put him down and turned to face whoever demon is behind.

Looks like it really is a girl after all. Long crimson hair, red eyes, and a face I am now compelled to remember and kill.

“Oh, you looked young for a granpa. What spell or potion did you use to look like that?” she mocked in her boyish voice adding fuel to my loathing.

“F*** you.” I cussed and dashed towards her intending to crush her beating heart.

She disappeared on her place and to my surprise, she’s already behind me.

“You’re fast huh.” She said causing me to attack once more that she just easily dodged.

“But I’m faster.” She whispered so near in my ear that I felt her warm breath touch my skin.

I leaped backwards and started walking slowly around her.

She chuckled and taunted me again. “What now granpa? Is your eyesight already failing?”

I felt a heat run up to my head. Damn this girl! She’s so dead.

I started doing rhythm echo and watched the smug look on her face became surprised, or rather, impressed.

“How’d you do that!” she exclaimed in a girly voice this time.

Tch. This b**ch is not taking me seriously. I came out behind her with my sharp claws ready to slash through her. I almost got her but she dodged on the last minute that what I only wounded is her right shoulder.

“What the hell?!! Are you trying to kill me?” she yelled, more like roared. She gritted her teeth that I could see two fang-like teeth on each side of it. She reminded me of a panther.

“Tch. Don’t act so stupid. You almost killed my brother so you deserve to die.” I irritatedly replied in between my teeth.

“Brother who??.... I killed your brother?” she asked probably playing dumb in a very convincing way. So convincing that the question is written all over her “trying to be innocent face” as if she never threw a child out of the window earlier.

“I’m talking about him.” I said pointing at Alluka from afar.

“Oh her… Well she-…” she paused for a second and slowly turned her head to where Alluka is then blinked twice.

“Whaaaaaat???! Sh- he is your brother???!” She exclaimed with her jaw almost touching the floor.

I was wrong. It wasn’t an act. I’m sure this girl is an idiot.. What a waste..

“I guess you’re a real dim-wit after all.” I concluded in a low hushed voice.

“You’re kidding! She can’t be a boy!” she started to walk towards Alluka’s direction causing me to instinctively sprint towards her, ready for another attack.

I aimed for her neck this time, but she managed to lean backwards in order to avoid my deadly claws. She’s too quick that only a few strands of her hair was cut due to my attack.

The dumb façade on her face changed into a serious and more alert one. She threw me a death glare.

“Oldie… You must be tired of living. If that’s so I’ll gladly lead you to death.” She discreetly murmured but loud enough for me to hear.

“Hah! You have to die first before you can lead me there yourself.” I mocked dispassionately.

She slightly bowed her head and clenched her fist then fire slowly started to surface around her.

What is this? I felt a stab of fear. T-this girl.

The dark aura coming from her is becoming more intense. She’s releasing a frightening bloodlust just like how Illumi does.

My left foot stepped backward on its own. Damn! I have to get Alluka out of here!

I hurried towards Alluka until a hot and strong force exploded on my back that caused me to stumble down. D-did she just threw a fireball?

“Going home too early?” She said in a scorn. “But were just about to start.”

Now she’s walking towards me with a contorted smile.

I can’t move… My body won’t move and it’s not because of the impact of the explosion, her powers is too overwhelming for me to think fast. She’s too near but I’m still paralyzed to where I am.

She grabbed my shirt and tugged me closer to her until our face almost touch.

My eyes met her fiery eyes and her smile is as crooked as ever.

Her other hand held a blazing heat that being too near from it feels like I'm melting like a candle.

"Take a good look on the face of the last person you'll see." her eyes showed no mercy on it. She's too strong. She'll definitely kill me.

"W-who are you?" I asked helplessly.

I don't know why but she cringed and changed her expressoon after hearing my question.

She loosened her grip and dropped me and the heat coming from her slowly faded. Then she jumped away, leaping from roof to roof without saying any word.
