VII. Running Buddies

~Rira's POV~

Fast like a wind, Akahi managed to outrun most of the examinees. This girl's energy can almost never run out. She looked up and we could see the faint light coming from the outside which means that the exit is near.

Aki felt more excited and increased her running pace. "Gaaaah! Faster! Faster! Faasteeer!" she chanted like she used to. She likes voicing out her intentions, loudly, when she's concentrating.

It didn't take long and she's already behind the two boys running just right behind Satotz.

"Who goes first place will get free lunch!" the white-haired boy challenged and picked up his pace, leaving the raven-haired boy behind.

"Hey! I'll be first!" shouted the later and ran faster to keep up.

Hehe.. That albino... Akahi thought with a trace of sinister smirk on her face.

You know he mustn't find out, don't you? I questioned knowing that she's thinking of a wicked scheme against the boy.

Of course I do. You don't need to ask, it's not like I'd pick on him or something... The inner tone of her thoughts are malicious. She's definitely up to something.

Remember why we're here. We can't afford to make a mess.

I won't okay? Geez, you arbiters sure are so rigid. She's still wearing that mischievous grin. Her already fast pace even increased in speed. She's trying to keep up with the two boys ahead.

As far as I've observed, Aki just intend to outrun those two. Why of course, she heard a competition going on and as competitive as she is, it's no question why she'd butt in to compete.

The light from outside started to blind her view as she approached the exit, one last leap and she found herself outside wherein a lush forest view was spread before her.

"Yay! I came first!" the raven-haired boy on her right shouted joyfully.

"Wrong. I went first." The white-haired one objects.

The raven-haired faced him pouting. "No. I'm first."

"Hah. I win. My lunch is on you." Declared the other before sticking his tongue out.

"Grrr..." the raven-haired frowned on the latter and they started glaring at each other.

Haha! Stupid bastards, I was first. Aki celebrated inwardly.

She tugged the hood of her garment hiding a half of her face then stepped behind to lean her back on the left corner of the exit.

"I know. Why don't we ask him instead?" white-haired proposed pointing at Satotz beside the right corner of the exit.

"Right." Raven-haired agreed nodding then faced the examiner. "Satotz-san, you saw it right? Who came out first?" He inquired.

Satotz shrugged. "The three of you came out simultaneously."

"Three?" raven and white-haired turned their heads to where Aki is.

"Whoa! You're that girl!" the raven-haired exclaimed as soon as he recognized her.

"You know her?" white-haired asked throwing her a suspicious look.

"Not really. I just saw her earlier bumping to Hisoka." Raven-haired explained while scratching the back of his head before facing her again.

"I'm glad he spared your life. I really thought he'd kill you. I'm Gon by the way." He cheerfully introduced himself then pointed on the white-haired. "And this one here is Killua."
