Blythe's POV
He should be mad at me. For lying to him. For deceiving his brother. For disgracing him with me. For dragging his name down.
But he hugged me tight, burying his face on my shoulder. I couldn't help but cry harder.
Bakit? Bakit hindi niya ako pinapagalitan? Bakit hindi niya ako sinisigawan? Bakit hindi niya ako kinamumuhian?
"Vierre, ako ang fiancee ni J-Jason.." he didn't say anything, he just hugged me tighter, like we're not close enough. "Naririnig mo ba ako?"
"Oo."
"Ikakasal ako kay Jason! Ilang buwan nalang! Alam mo naman siguro yun, diba? Napag usapan niyo ng pamilya mo, diba?"
"Shh.."
"Damn it, Vierre, say something!" Sigaw ko rito at humagulgol lalo, "come on! Scream at me! Get mad at me! I fooled you! I fooled your brother! Say something, ask me anything.. please.." pagmamakaawa ko.
"Okay, I'll ask something," aniya habang yakap parin ako, "how did it go with Tita Joyce?" Bakit iyan ang tanong niya?
"She.. didn't like it."
"Kasi ang kapatid ko ang fiancee mo?" Tumango ako, "kapag ba ako ang naging fiancee mo, matatanggap nila ako?"
Natigilan ako sandali sa sinabi niya kaya lumayo ako sakanya, hinayaan niya rin ako kaya nagkaharap na kami.
"What are you talking about?"
"Nothing.." pagod niyang tugon at bahagyang napailing, "..are you gonna break up with me?" Itago man niya, nahuli ko parin ang pananakit at takot sa tono niya.
Nakagat ko ang labi ko dahil roon, "I.. I'm supposed to.. I-I should.. lalo na't si Jason ang.." hindi ko matapos.
Bumuntong-hinga siya, "do you want us to break up?" He softly whispered, nanlalambing.
This is fucking unfair, Vierre, how fucking dare you?
Napailing ako at yumuko, lumapit ako para masandal ko ang ulo ko sa dibdib niya, he caressed my hair. "I don't, Vierre, I.. want to be with you.."
I felt him kiss my hair, "me too, darling, me too.."
"Anong gagawin natin?"
"What do you propose?"
"We'll.. stall," nag angat na ako ng tingin sakanya, hindi natanggal ang kamay niya sa likod ng ulo ko. "The.. wedding will be in a few months, we'll stall until then."
"Aren't you scared? But whatever you wish, I'll be with you."
"I want to be with you for as long as I can, Vierre, kapag kinasal na ako—" I immediately stopped and looked away.
Bumuntong-hininga siya, "and what about Jason?"
"Bakit hindi ka kumakampi sakanya? I'm fooling him through Idony, Vierre."
Biglang dumilim ang mata niya, "Idony's just fooling Jason?"
"A-At first, pero minahal na talaga siya ni Idony kalaunan.." yumuko ako, "..it's so fucked up. This wasn't part of the plan. You weren't part of the plan. But here we are, the four of us tangled by destiny."
"I'm sure the destiny has a reason for us to get tangled this way."
"And that is?"
