Chapter 7

▪️Sehun▪️

Chen hyung has always been so private. He doesn't share about his past. It sounded mysterious but we never pushed him to his limits.

After he confessed his fondness to Namji noona and unfortunately dumped him, he  became so serious at work now. I don't know if he still got time to relax. This reunion of theirs must be a good excuse.

"Hyung.. so are you ready for your reunion? Weeks to go and your going home." I sat beside him here in the practice room tossing him a bottle of water. The rest were taking a break too.
"It was nothing important."
"Oh it should be important. Why? Is there someone you're avoiding to see"
He didn't give a response. It only means, he doesn't want to talk about it.

"By the way, I heard you, Baekhyun hyung and D.O hyung went out with Lyn noona, Namji noona and Baechun..Why did you not invite me huh?" I changed the topic.
"I did but you got colds at that time and I couldn't let D.O get sick before he goes to military."
"Yahh..that's so mean. I could have seen Baechunie. So.. how is she in her new company?"
Baechun told me about her life as a trainee in an entertainment agency.
She must be working hard right now.
"Still Baechun.. but without glasses and pigtails."
That's good news then. That made me think..
"Ah hyung.. I just wondered, were you and Baechunie knew each other before she came her 4 years ago SME?"

I was waiting for an answer to this far-fetched curiosity.

▪️ Jongdae/Chen▪️

Sehun's question hit me deep down in my bones. I thought no one would notice.. I thought no one would ask.

After that day we met again for so long... I told her those words..

'It's nice to see you again. But I hope we treat each other here like we didn't meet before.'

Those words left her a heartache.
Why did I say those?

I knew it would be painful for her but I did it for her sake.. I just wanted to protect her.

'Okay Chen-ssi. If that's what you want.' She smiled and left the room with Lyn and Namji.

After that conversation..Baechun treated me like someone she just knew. I guessed it was better this way.

But Namji noticed it so I remained kind to Baechun and let her call me Oppa.

When everyone was so busy with the comeback, Baechun still acted like the little girl I knew taking a glance at me. But my eyes were locked to Namji.

And when everything turned out well for D.O and Lyn, I remained silent about my feelings to Namji.

Baechun knew it all along..

But what's hurting was that Namji only treated me as a friend. She never see me as someone special like he did to Chanyeol and Baekhyun.

Because of that, I even made deals with Baek's ex-girlfriend Suzy. Yet it turned out hurting Namji.

Baechun saw me as the root of such situation.

I tried to talk to her...

'Baechunie.. It's not what you think. I' m just doing this for her.'
' No oppa.. you did this for yourself.  You want her so much for yourself. I didn't know you were this selfish. Just like the old Jongdae Oppa.'

' Just like the old Jongdae.. '

Was I really that selfish?
I destroyed my friendship with Jina and Changgu hyung..
I left my club..
Now I am destroying their trust to me.

'I' m glad that we didn't have to treat each other like we met before.'

I couldn't imagine how hideous I was before.. Because of that I lost my sister, my friends, my club.
Did I deserve all of these?

"Hyung.. Are you alright?"
I remembered I' m currently here in the practice room with the guys.
"Yeah.. I'm sorry.. I'll just go to the toilet."
I left Sehun with brows met.

'Can I figure this out? Can I still make things right?'

Our Chen must be hiding something inside him.
