Chapter 14

"Here.. take this."
Changgu oppa offered me a drink here outside the convenient store after treating my bruise.
"How's that? Does it still hurt?

He pointed at my bruise on my knee.
" Not so much. Thanks for this oppa." I smiled at him.

There was a moment of silence until I broke it.
" Oppa.. I knew all about it. About you sending letters to Jina unnie."
I was expecting him to react angrily but he remained calm. He must have presumed this to happen.

"So you already knew. I guess there's no hiding anymore."
"I know how much you liked Jina unnie oppa.. I can sense it. But--"
"But she can't like me the way I feel for her." He interrupted me.
"Oppa.. she cared for you. She was even worried when you stopped sending her letters."
"I think that's what she likes.."
"No oppa.. She wanted you to show up. Stop this hiding oppa. Stop this and come back to us.."

He didn't say for a moment and sighed.
"I'm not giving up on her. Just taking a break.. I need to make you and our parents proud of me first."
"We do oppa.. whatever you do. We are proud of you."

And we hugged. The warmth between us is comforting. Like a baby cub lying on it's mother's fur. I hope this never ends.

"So.. how about you Chunie.. Are you still chasing after Jongdae?"
He pull away and said those words.. Those words? How did he even know?
"Don't stare at me like that Chunie.. of course I knew. Sibling's instinct. And you know what, I am not liking Jongdae these days cause he's tryna steal Jina from me but are you sure you can do this.. with that transforming yourself?"
He looked at me from head to toe.
Today I wore a mini skater's skirt with stockings on and a sweater this spring season. I put my hair down and wore contacts.
" Do you think he won't like it? I remember he said he looks at beautiful women."
" Like Jina.. but if he likes you too.. he will accept you just the way you are." He patted me on my back.
"I am not giving up on him too Oppa.. Unless he says so."

"Well that's my girl.. Now tell me about your training.."
"You tell me yours first Oppa.. Taehyun oppa must have burned you out today."
"How did you know? .. Did you.."
And we laughed at each other talking all through the night.

I felt so relieved to see and talk to him this way. Now I have one goal left..

I have to make sure Chen oppa will only look at me... as a beautiful woman.

(Flashback to One Year Ago)

During the bonfire in Jejudo, I sat between Kai and Sehun. I was stealing glances with Chen oppa who was busy entertaining Namji unnie.

In a little while, Baekhyun oppa and Miss Suzy left.. and Namji unnie left as well. The rest of us were left chitchatting when suddenly the topic goes around us.

'How about you Chen hyung? What do you like about girls? Do you look at someone who wears glasses and ponytails?'
Someone asked Chen oppa and he just laughed at it. The description matches me.
'No No.. I look at beautiful women.'

At that time, I felt something ill. It was like someone strongly stung you behind.

I looked at Chen oppa but didn't catch my glance and eventually left the group.

From that moment on, I thought of  changing myself... into a beautiful woman that she can look at.

"Chen.. do you know where to go today right? I've given you the details." Suho reprimanded Chen with his schedule on that day.

"Yes hyung.. I'll get my things ready." Chen left to his room.

Sehun saw him preparing and poked him.

"Hey hyung.. you goin out today? Where?"
"To Wave Entertainment.. Got some meeting with the producer for my music video."
"Wave Entertainment. Is that where Baechun is training?"
Chen paused and looked at Sehun with confusion.
"Well.. that's what I've heard from her.."
"So what? The company is too big for us to cross paths.. I'm gonna leave now. Make sure to clean the room Sehun.. and Don't let Baek and Chan enter. Okay?"
Sehun signalled him okay and left.

After few-minute ride, he arrived at the entrance of Wave Entertainment.

He was about to pass through the lobby when someone called him.

"Chen oppa?"

He turned his masked face to the owner of the voice.

"Oh Hi Baechun-ah. It's good to see you here."

Baechun came closer to him.
"What are you doing here?"
"I came here for a meeting.."
"I see.. Ahh by the way Chen Oppa.. Do you have a moment?"

"Why.. Is there something wrong?"

Baechun froze for a while and then spoke.

"Ahm.. Nothing. Never mind. I will go first Oppa. Have a nice Day."

She half-ran to the entrance where Risa was waiting.

"Oh Baechunie.. Is that Jongdae oppa? Hii Oppa! " Risa waved at him but Baechun hurriedly held her inside.

'What is happening here?' Chen whispered to himself and walked slowly to the entrance.
