Chapter 15

▪️Baechun▪️

What I thought the day after we reconciled with Changgu oppa is to finally confess to Chen oppa.. again if we cross paths.

My mind was so busy how to form the words that I have to say when I see him.

I nearly arrived in the company building when I saw a familiar face.
'That's Chen Oppa?'

So is this the right time? Am I ready? Do I look pretty now?

This is it. I have to do this now or I'll regret it later... before it's too late.

"Chen oppa?"

Oppa is wearing a mask who just came down from the car.

"Oh Hi Baechun-ah. It's good to see you here."

I walked closer to him. I need warm-ups.
"What are you doing here?"
"I came here for a meeting.."
Meeting? With whom?
Argh! That shouldn't be the focus of my approach. Here we go...

"I see.. Ahh by the way Chen Oppa.. Do you have a moment?"

"Why.. Is there something wrong?" He asked with worries on his face.

Am I really ready?

But what if, what happened before will be repeated today.

(Flashback: One Year Ago)

On the day Baekhyun oppa left for his music video with Miss Suzy. I knew to myself that Namji unnie was no longer in our room.

Maybe she had something to do or buy.. but it's still seven in the morning and shops aren't open until nine.
Where could unnie be?

Before I decided to go out, I notice the empty cupboards of Namji unnie.

Empty cupboards mean clothes are packed... which only tells, Namji unnie had left.

I ran outside and looked for her but no one. She must have left already. But where will she go? And why she didn't even tell me?

As I was looking for her, I met Chen oppa on the way.

"Chen oppa.. Did you see Namji unnie? She's not in our room. And her things are all gone."

"It's better for you not to know Baechunie." Chen oppa passed beside me.
"Why? Namji unnie is also my friend. I have the right to know, haven't I? Please oppa... tell me."
I begged..

He let go a heavy sigh before he started.

"She left for good. She needs to take care of her mother and her broken family. She suffered this for a long time. And it's time for her to fix it."
Suffered? I didn't know.
"Were you the only one she told about it?"
He nodded.
"He trusted you so much. Because you are his friend.. and NOTHING MORE." I emphasized the last two words for him to get the gist.

"What are you trying to say?"
"I'm saying that Namji unnie likes Baekhyun oppa.. and not you." I didn't recall being this confident to say these words.
Chen oppa was silent.
"Oppa.. Look around you. Someone cared for you.. Someone adore you.. and Someone can understand you. That's me oppa.. because.. I.. like.. you."
Those were the bravest words I've said in my whole life.
I've got to say this before I end my contract with JGS and SME.

"Baechunie.. I appreciate it. I really do. But you were just like my sister, remember? And you' ll always be one. I'm sorry." He turned his back at me and wanted to start making some steps.
"Is it because I wear glasses, with pigtails and childish clothes? Because I wasn't pretty?"
He stopped and turned at me.

"What? Where did you hear that? I—"
"You don't have to explain oppa. Soon I'll be leaving here. But I want you to know oppa that when we meet again in the future, you will surely look at me."
And I run with tears in my eyes.

(Back to the Present Time)

What if he rejects me again?

I wasn't ready at that time.
Not even today..
Not yet Baechun..
Not now..

"Ahm.. Nothing. Never mind. I will go first Oppa. Have a nice Day."

I went to the entrance and saw Risa who was waiting for me.

"Oh Baechunie.. Is that Jongdae oppa? Hii Oppa! " Risa waved at him.
'Come on Risa.. We' ll be late. '
I whispered at her and we eventually got inside.

"What is wrong with you Baechun? Why are you in a hurry? Risa asked me.
" I need the toilet.. " The word made Risa cried' yuck' and pushed me down the hallway to the toilet.

Few minutes of struggles, I went out sweating.
" Risa.. Am I beautiful? " I asked her randomly.
"Huh? What kind of question is that? If you asked it who just came from the toilet, you looked awful."

"Really? No.. It can't be.. Risa.. later you have to go with me. We'll go cosmetic shopping."

Risa was half confused and half excited.

I have to be more prepared.
We don't know.. the next maybe the last.

I have to be ready.
