"okay, if you can beat lana's trial, you can beat this..." i slowly breathed in, standing at the entrance of the trial in wela volcano park

"so you took on lana's trial, eh?" one of the instructors, an older man with a bright blue shirt on spoke to me, he looked like every other instructor around alola.

"y-yeah..." i stammered. "i'm really nervous for this one..."

the instructor frowned. "dont be!" he then gave me a friendly smile. "here, let me heal your pokemon! those hikers are darn annoying!"

"tell me about it!" i rolled my eyes and handed six pokeballs to the instructor

"there you go!" the instructor smiled, handing me the pokeballs back.

"thank you so much!" i bowed slightly, clipping the six pokeballs onto my waistband

"are you ready for captain kiawe's trial?" i shot up rapidly to the instructor tilting his head

i let out a huge sigh. "sure...i'll give it a shot!"

the instructor nodded, smiling. "alright, whenever you're ready just head on in... good luck!"

"th-thank you!" my heart began racing as i stepped into the entrance of the trial

as i walked up the hill towards wela volcano, i detected my competition. an intimidating figure stood with its arms folded at the top of the hill. i kept my eyesight down at the ground and gulped anxiously not wanting to make any sort of eye contact yet.

"so..." the figure spoke once i made it up the hill. "you're wanting to take on my trial?"

i finally set my gaze up. a tall muscular boy, looking a year or two older than me was stood, his face as cold as stone. his bright red shorts matched the red streaks in his black hair, resembling... fire?

"y-yeah..." i softly spoke.

"right..." the boys arms folded tighter on his bare chest. "you're name?" he demanded

"uh, Y/N" my E/C met his dark, cool ones which were scrutinising me.

"alright, Y/N... nice to meet you, i'm Kiawe, the trial captain." he all of a sudden gave me a slight friendly smile, which caused my body to tense up in shock, not knowing what was happening. kiawe chuckled a little bit at my response. "i'm not THAT scary am i?" he moved his hands to his bare hips, revealing his muscular physique.

"uhhh..." i didn't exactly know what to say

he chuckled again. "anyway... this trial won't be like the others you've done... where do you come from?"

"well, i recently just moved to melemele island..." i shrugged

Kiawe closed his eyes smiling. "that normalium Z..." his eyes pondered onto my wrist, making me jerk it forward slightly. "so you passed Ilima's trial?" Kiawe smiled, searching my face for an answer

i paused for a moment, staring at the normalium Z. "oh...yeah, i passed I-Ilima's!" i forced a smile

"impressive." Kiawe then turned his back to me, allowing me to let out a relaxed sigh."now. my trials different... i have a different way of doing things..." his voice went down an octave. "alright?"

"y-yeah! alright!" i responded quickly, slightly startled

"okay... Y/N... your trial BEGINS!" he turned back around raising his voice abruptly
