Sooooo this is a barry x reader and i had so much fun making this because barry is honestly one of my fav characters from the anime lol. basically this is barry from the anime set in Sunyshore city :P. enjoy!

today was an important day. Sunyshore City was waiting for my presence, no. Volkner was waiting. i was ready to take on Volkner to collect my final gym badge, me and the team i've watched grow felt more than prepared, we've worked together and evolved as a team, not just physically. as i used all my leg power i've built up over this journey to cycle through the city all i could think about was my team. the little Starly which was my first catch, when i was just a rookie. the puny little Starly who has also taken on every previous gym and has evolved into a brutal Staraptor. how about my-

"GAHHHH!" i yelped as i felt a huge force crash into my bikes front wheel making me whizz off my bike. my body tumbled onto the cool ground, aching in pain. i heard my bike clutter down next to me and my aching body. i finally opened my eyes, facing the dull sky laughing back at me. groaning i managed to sit myself up trying to see what all the commotion was about.

"i should've known..." i mumbled, rubbing one of my scraped elbows gently.

"HEY! THAT HURT! YOU KNOW THATS GONNA GET YOU A FIN- oh..." the blonde ranted until he finally glanced up and his orange eyes met mine.

"barry... hey." i awkwardly forced a smile, struggling to get up

"Y/N!" barry yelled, wide-eyed. he quickly bounced up, obviously unhurt and dusted himself off, fixing his green scarf that was wrapped tightly around his neck. "how are you?" he towered over me holding both his hands out

i sighed, grabbing both of his hands. he did most of the work helping me up as i couldn't feel my legs. i finally got up and cleared my throat. "been bette-AH!"

my battered legs couldn't keep their balance and i felt myself crash into the tall and gangly Barry. my head buried into his orange and white, striped shirt.

"better." i grumbled, lightly pushing myself off  Barry's chest. i still wobbled about trying to manoeuvre myself until i felt a hand intertwine into mine.

"uhh. Y/N, here... you can't stand straight..." Barry finally awkwardly spat out

"th-thanks..." i said in the midst of regaining my balance.

"hehe... sorry about that, guess i just got too caught up in everything, i'm SO overwhelmed right now."Barry  boasted

"what do you mean?" we were closer than normal. i felt my face heat up slightly as my E/C orbs met barry's orange ones, i had to admit he looked good up close, maybe even better. what am i thinking? this is the clumsy BARRY who's always in a rush!

"well... i COMPLETED the gym challenge!" he grinned pridefully

a warm smile appeared on my face. "wow! well done!" i giggled

"thanks!" he then raised an eyebrow. "i take it you're about to take on Volkner?"

i nodded. "i was..."

"was?"

"well... i don't think i'm in good shape to do so, right now..." i looked down at the ground and then at my red knees, which were bound to be coated in bruises soon.

Barry gasped dramatically. "OF COURSE! i'm so sorry again, Y/N! i'll help you get down to a pokemon centre to rest for a bit maybe?" his grip tightened in my hand with passion, causing my heart to skip. Barry was a very energetic and outgoing person and i don't think he realised how swore it was to have nails digging into my palms viciously

"that's not a bad idea bar-" i began to nod

"GREAT!" he jumped up lightly. with his hand still in mine he led me over to my bike. "ILL CARRY YOUR BIKE, AND HELP YOU UP Y/N. I'LL EVEN REPAY YOU IN A PARALYSE HEAL? WOULD AN AWAKENING BE BETTER?" he lifted up my bike quickly and carried it in one arm

"Barry. you don't need to rush-"

"-THE POKEMON CENTRE ISN'T FAR AWAY! HERE Y/N!" suddenly, he unclasped my hand and tightly wrapped his free arm around my waist, before i could crash into the ground again. the world stopped, and i felt myself being dragged next to Barry. the warmth of his body clashed against my cool and bare shoulders

Barry turned around impatiently. "I DON'T WANT YOU TO DIE BECAUSE I'LL GET A FINE! LETS HURRY!" his hand pulled me in again slightly and i unfroze from my disbelief.

slowly but surely, my weak legs managed to get me into the pokemon centre, along with the huffing Barry who just had to use all his strength to get me in the cozy building.

i felt myself drop into a soft, cushy couch and heard my bike drop with it. my eyes were beginning to heaven up as it was beginning to get late.

i looked up to see Barry with his arms crossed, anxiously searching my face.

"Barry..." i whispered weakly, then yawned

"Y/N, you're exhausted... you must've been hit hard, all your strength is GONE!" he slumped down next to me on the couch. "IM GONNA GET A FIN-"

"shhh!" i cut off Barry, my finger slowly pressing on his lips. "shut up about fines, for one minute. i'm tired."

Barry was speechless, all he could do was stare at the finger on his lips leave and the hand flop back onto the couch.

my exhaustion won. giving up, i was able to murmur out one more thing.

"thank you for carrying my bike... and me... good night..."

i was out cold. my head swung onto Barry's shoulder, causing him to tense up slightly. he adjusted swiftly and wrapped his arm around my bruised shoulder, also beginning to drift off.

"...no fines for today..." he whispered happily before he crashed with me
