hey! so this was a requested bill x reader. i decided to base it off Bill in HG/SS, i hope that's okay because i'm not really familiar with his appearance in the anime. thank you so so much @deltalucariotrainer for your request ^_^

as soon as i made it to Ecruteak city i decided my first stop should be the Pokemon centre, even though i really wanted to explore the historical town. i even heard the tallest building in Johto was situated here, the Bell Tower! it was also linked with the legendary Ho-Oh!

me and my team were pretty exhausted after searching the tall grass, which what felt like ages for a dark type to compete against Ecruteak city's ghost gym leader, Morty. my pokemon needed a big rest after their hard work

i navigated my way through the beautiful town, admiring the traditional Japanese architecture. it was pretty easy to find my way to the centre.

when the doors slid open, the whole world seemed to stop

that's when i met him.

it was as if he was waiting for me. the way he leaned against Nurse Joy's counter smiling back at me, even though i didn't have any clue who he was.

i slowly walked up to the counter awkwardly, as he just blankly waited for my presence

"hi, i'm Bill." he introduced himself as i halted in front of him. he gave me a toothy smile which complemented his brown eyes. i instantly noticed how good looking he was, but still, why was he introducing himself to me?

"...i'm Y/N..." i forced a smile, still very confused. i even blinked several times to reassure myself this was definitely happening.

"nice to meet you, Y/N!" his smiled widened. "you're not gonna believe this but... i'm the one who actually developed the system to transfer pokemon!"

my eyes widened at his statement. it's not as if i pictured who was the developer, but i definitely didn't expect him to look like this. aside from how he looks, that's a very big thing! he was probably a genius!

"o-oh... that's really cool!" i managed to say, meanwhile my mind was going crazy

he let out a lighthearted chuckle, which was sort of... cute? i really shouldn't be thinking that about a complete stranger

"well... i shouldn't take ALL the credit!" he shrugged, and gave me a wink "so... Y/N? i've heard a lot about you, heard you've been defeating the gyms, huh? i presume you're here to take on Morty?" he tilted his head, still warmly grinning

my face heated up slightly as Bill's brown eyes were scanning my face.

"y-yeah... i am..." i scratched the back of my head awkwardly. i didn't know how to act

Bill stepped forward for a moment, coming closer to me. which for some reason made my heart skip and my face burn even more in embarrassment

"good luck. i'm sure you'll destroy him... i've been able to see some of your captures. a lot so far, hm?" his eyes locked into my E/C orbs as he calmly smiled

"uhh..." i cleared my throat, "...y-yeah...i guess..." i tried to shrug it off, forcing a laugh.

Bill nodded. "i should let you get to healing. i could stay and talk all day... but i've got to get back to Goldenrod to see my folks!" he let out a sigh, hinting a bit of sadness

"o-oh. uhh... i guess i'll see you then?" i didn't know if i would. i was still so jumbled up with whatever was going on. i wish i was more prepared for this 'encounter'

"yeah... i'd like that. bye Y/N~" he waved as i watched Bill zoom past me.

in an instant, the Pokemon Centre doors slammed shut. i stared at them for a moment as the glass glared back.
