hey! so this was a requested brendan x reader, based on the start of the hoenn games. i didn't make it exactly like the start of the games, so i hope that's okay! thank you so so much @fluffydream220 for requesting!

i heard the engine of the moving truck finally come to a halt. when the moving truck stopped i crashed into the cardboard box next to me, knocking it over.

"jeeeez!" i groaned as i slouched up against the clutter

as i was rubbing the elbow that would definitely have a huge bruise imprinted on it later, the moving truck doors opened, reminding me of the outside world.

my eyes stang as the bright sunny day invaded the small space i'd been sitting in for hours

"my eyes!" i groaned again

"Y/N!~" my mum poked her head around the door, "we're here, at the new house!" she enthusiastically jingled.

i slowly wiped my palms off my face and allowed my eyes to adapt to the bright light. after a moment i got up of the ground and took a good stretch

"that felt good..." i mumbled to myself as i hopped out of the truck, glad i wouldn't have to go through such discomfort again

"well..." my mum clasped her hands together, waiting for me to exit the truck, "...what do you think?"

i placed my hands on my hips, looking around at my surroundings for a moment. the town was pretty isolated with three houses in total, but it was very scenic.

the trees surrounding us were green and bushy and i noticed many pretty flowers were planted around the building that was behind my mum

"...this is the house!" my mum squealed as i turned to face her again, "come on, let's go and have a look."

she turned away from me and began going into the house

to be honest i thought Littleroot town was beautiful. although it was very small i adored the peaceful atmosphere it emitted so far.

"here it is!~" my mum waved her hands up happily, we were both stood in the living room, admiring how big and spacious our new house was

"wow, this place is lovely." i smiled warmly at my mum

"machokeee" a big muscular pokemon entered the house, dropping a heavy box to the ground, it calmly wiped a bead of sweat of its forehead and left the house again, as if it wasn't just carrying a box that probably weighed more than me

"wow, the moving company sure do have some strong pokemon..." i muttered, it wasn't until i properly took a look around the place that i noticed there were tons of machoke everywhere. heaving our many boxes, and unpacking things

"yes, they do." my mum nodded in agreement, "say what... your room probably isn't ready yet, so why don't you go and take a walk? go explore the area..."

"do i have to." i rolled my eyes, just wanting to sit down for a bit as my body ached slightly from how uncomfortable the moving truck was.

"oh, don't be silly." my mum patted my shoulder, "maybe go and introduce yourself to the neighbours? infact Professor Birch's laboratory is just down the path!" she eyeballed me, while folding her arms

"really... i'm tired..." suddenly i noticed my mums stern expression on her face "f-fine! i'll go on a walk. a nice long breezy walk..." i raised both my hands up, sighing in defeat, i didn't have enough energy to be arguing with my mum

"great then!" my mum clapped her hands, "Y/N dear, don't be too lo-" i heard my mum shout from behind me as i shut the door

"okay, what should i- AH!" i began muttering to myself before yelping at the unexpected figure standing directly in front of me

even the boy jumped slightly at my sudden... 'introduction'

"s-sorry! i didn't mean to scare you there!" he spoke, fixing the white beanie that covered his brown hair

"no... it's fine! you didn't... i mean you startled me but it's totally okay!" i awkwardly waved my hands infront of myself

great first impression there Y/N!

"heh, i saw you come out of the moving truck, earlier...so i was gonna say hi... but i guess you already beat me to it!" the boy rubbed the back of his head, laughing, i think it was the cutest laugh i'd ever heard

i laughed with him, " oh! s-sorry about that, i'm Y/N..."

"no need to apologise. Brendan." he smiled, i admired how white his teeth were and how perfect his smile was, "it's nice to finally have neighbours, you know."

"yeah... this place is kind of isolated..." i frowned to myself, "...but it's pretty" i shrugged

"agreed." Brendan then glanced his crystal eyes away for a second, "i mean at least there's someone who's the same age, now... for a while it's been only me and my parents..." he finally looked back at me, i noticed a feint tint of pink across his cheeks

"what about the professor? isn't his lab just down the road?" i tilted my head in confusion

Brendan laughed to himself again, making my heart flutter in a way it had never before, "you see... my dad IS the professor, professor Birch."

"ohhh... then that makes sense why it's only you and your family..." i nervously lowered my voice at how dumb i sounded as i continued that sentence

Brendan stuffed his hands in his pockets, "yeah, well my dads busy right now, i guess we can't visit the lab... so maybe... w-we could go on a walk or something... assuming you're not busy with moving in..."

i smiled shyly to myself, "i'm not busy at all... i'd love to."

Brendans face lit up immediately, "cool! i can show around the forest i always go to, theres tons of cool pokemon there!"

"that sounds great!" i nodded at Brendan

Brendan suddenly brought his hand out, "okay, then follow me."

i giggled and gently held onto his hand, my face burning a deep crimson. we both stared at our intertwined hands for a moment, then smiled up at eachother, which was then followed up by both of us looking away in embarrassment

i felt like an eight year old, feeling all giddy inside and my body tingling.

i loved it.

"let's go, Y/N" Brendan softly spoke as we closely walked beside eachother out of my front garden.

before we went any further, i suddenly stopped. a huge figure was soaring through the azure sky. i glared at it in confusion as it left a linear white mark in the sky

"Y/N?" Brendan turned around

"look..." i whispered, pointing up at the sky

Brendan followed my finger, locating the figure, "what is that thing...?" he squinted his eyes at it. i turned to notice his face completely focused on whatever was flying through the sky. i then noticed how when he turned back to me, his features softened up again

"i guess we'll have to find out for ourselves one day... you and me." Brendan smiled

"i'd like that." i nodded in agreement as we both began walking towards the forest.

(1100ish words! ) so, that was the Brendan x reader! i really hope this was okay because i found it sort of hard to decide on a main plot between the reader and Brendan so sorry if it's kind of short! thank you so much again for requesting @fluffydream220 ! it really means a lot that you requested and i had so much fun writing this ^_^
