"alright Raboot!" i raised my fist in the air. "let's finish this off with one more double kick!"

the creature followed my directions instantly, pounding both of its legs into the opposing zigzagoon, causing it to faint.

"alright!" i smiled and ran over to raboot, patting his head. "well done! you're starting to get stronger by the minute!"

"raboot!" raboot cried, giving me a high five

suddenly, i heard clapping from behind me and it came nearer and nearer. i curiously turned away from raboot and instantly regretted it.

Hop chuckled, while making his way over to us. his purple hair damp with the harsh rainfall. it looked sort of... nice

"wow! you two really are the team!" he smiled brightly

i felt my face heat up and i stood frozen, not knowing what to do. i sheepishly smiled, glancing everywhere except Hop's eyes, frantically

"i mean that battle was truly spectacular!" he continued on enthusiastically as i returned raboot into it's pokeball

i still stayed mute, all i could do was force a smile and nod. i didn't want to embarrass myself infront of Hop by saying something weird or making myself come across a rude

"...so what brings you to the wild area, it's kinda late and the weathers horrible?" Hop tilted his head while carrying the conversation. "i'm gonna camp!" he said excitedly

my heart began pounding as for a moment i gathered all the potential things i could say. i could feel Hop's amber eyes pierce through me as i stared at the wet ground, processing something to blurt

"just...uh... t-training." i managed to stammer

don't be so weird and awkward!

"oh, nice! i can see it's paying off!"

what do i say!

i finally built up enough courage to manoeuvre my E/C eyes into Hop's, which didn't last long...

"th-thank you!" i scratched the back of my neck awkwardly and glanced back down at the soggy grass , examining every strand of it.

"i bet you're exhausted, because i am!" Hop sighed, hands on his hips. "tell you what! why don't we set up camp together?" he suggested

oh god

my eyes widened in disbelief and i gulped
in slightly "i...uh, well-"

"come on! it'll be fun!" he cut me off and grabbed my hand, which was probably sweating crazily.

once Hop found a flat and quiet patch of grass he finally let go of my hand and i felt a wave of relief over come me and discreetly wiped my sweating palms

okay, actually say something, don't over complicate it

"wow... it's kinda cold..." i attempted to start some sort of conversation

damn it... weather talk, seriously?

"gosh!" Hop turned to me, gasping. "you must be freezing in this baltic weather, here!"

my stomach dropped. i didn't want to believe it. Hop began taking off his denim jacket which was fluffy at the collar and sleeves.

i backed away slightly as Hop held out the jacket towards me

"take it!" he insisted, pushing it closer to me

"no, uh... you don't uh h-hav-"

i was cut off by the tower of shade as Hop tiptoed over me, attacking me with the jacket, which was way too big for me.
