The rays of the sun shine through the glass window panels gently gliding its way into the room onto the handsome tan face of the first year freshman who stirred a bit upon feeling its warmth on his left cheek. Minute eyelid movements proved that he was slowly coming to life as the new day emerged and slowly the young engineer student fluttered his eyes open to the world.
Brushing his messed up black hair to the side, KongPob sat up in his bed groggily as he rubbed the sleep and tiredness out of his eyes. His head slightly throbbed a remnant of the headache he had experienced the night before as he opened his eyes fully and felt slightly frustrated at the sun that had dared to wake him up this early despite his reluctance to do so. It didn't matter at the moment that he was the one to blame for not having drawn his curtains well last night. A faint twitch in his cheeks could be seen as he could almost hear his mother's nagging on his poor curtain drawing skills and could feel her reprimand.
He sat still for a few seconds to get his bearings right as he tried to recall what had happened since last night. Suddenly he froze, a small semi shocked smile gracing his thin lips and a glimmer of light shine in his chocolate brown eyes. Everything that had transpired in the last 24 hours rushed back into his memory and he pinched himself to ensure that he wasn't dreaming at all. As the realization that he wasn't dreaming settled in, a full blown smile spread across his youthful face and he chuckled- more like giggled to himself, his checks blushing and becoming flushed.
It was indeed true that P'Arthit had confessed to their friends that they had began dating after P'Arthit had returned his confession three days ago. Last night was nerve wrecking because he didn't know how to act around P'Arthit with their friends there especially after they had just admitted that they liked each other. The problem was how and when they would tell their friends because for one P'Arthit's friends had long known P'Arthit as a ladies'man and finding out that he had suddenly taken an interest in the young freshman let alone the very freshman that had given him much headache and trouble... How would they react? And what about his own friends? This was the first time that KongPob had ever liked a man in his life and he didn't know how to break it to his friends. It wasn't that he was ashamed or embarrassed by the fact, he could care less he was mature enough to acknowledge his feelings about who he liked and wasn't afraid of expressing it but this was new territory for him and he would be lying if he said that he hadn't been scared.
He had already come to terms with the fact that he liked P'Arthit but what would his friends say? And what about the numerous questions that would follow? Was he gay, bi or straight? KongPob knew that he wasn't gay because he wouldn't fall for any other man just P'Arthit and as for being bi, he had never really been in a relationship with a girl before. Sure he had occasional crushes here and there but he had never been someone's boyfriend in fact this was the first time that he had actually liked someone that much. But labels aside, KongPob now only wanted to be near P'Arthit as much as possible, he was always happy being around him, raking care of him, listening to his endless rants, teasing him even getting scolded by him put a skip in his step and now thanks to P'Arthit he would be able to do all these things with no reservation.
KongPob knew how to read people's silent emotions and he knew that P'Arthit wasn't someone who would publicly show off their relationship since it was P'Arthit we were talking about here after all but he was more than satisfied that he had outed them to their friends and at least they could be together in the comfort of their group. It was enough for him.
His smile further grew when he remembered the short lived kiss he and P'Arthit has shared on the rooftop after the party. Granted it only lasted a few seconds, KongPob could still feel the softness and warmth of P'Arthit's lips against his own when he grazed his fingers against them. At that particular time he felt as if his heart would burst out of his chest and his soul would soar across the sky like a shooting star. He had been extremely nervous and scared that maybe he was coming on to strong or had even misread the situation and P'Arthit would reject him there and then, luckily P'Arthit had closed the gap between them and a beautiful memory had been created. It was something he never wanted to forget.
His smile kept growing as a fluttering feeling emerged from his stomach to his shect and settled in his heart as he fully got out of bed and began preparing for the day. Winter break was going to begin in a few days and KongPob looked forward to the much needed break before rejoining for his second year. He was more excited knowing that he would get the chance to be more closer to P'Arthit and get to like him even more if it was possible. Getting his towel, he sauntered to the bathroom and took his time washing away the grime and sweat of the previous night. It was only 7:45am and knowing P'Arthit he wouldn't be awake by now. The man loved his sleep very much plus he could see from his balcony that the curtains had of his room still hadn't been drawn. He decided that he would head out later to P'Arthit's table and get him some breakfast before hanging out with his own friends and begin preparing for winter break.
After the shower, he took time to clean his room. His dear mother had put much effort in teaching him how to do house chores diligently and as the obedient and responsible boy tahy he was, he wasn't about to put his mother's hard work to shame. Ironing the last bit of laundry, he got his black bag pack and got ready to go to the campus cafeteria. He couldn't help but smile, his cheeks stretching revealing one of his many boyish charms as he locked his dorm room and headed out.
