Chapter 23

KongPob was a no show the next day as well and San knew he had 'fucked' up big time. There was no one he could contact to ask around about KongPob, more was there anyone he could tell what had happened lestbthey began giving him disapproving talks. He knew what he had done was wrong but damn it, he had waited long enough maybe too long to notice that the guy he liked was already taken. He had a feeling of those two that they were something more but he pushed it aside and went ahead with his agenda. Now, it was biting him in the ass.

KongPob woke up very late much to the surprise of his family. Punctuality and habitual routine was his second nature yet today he had cast that aside. He lay in bed on his sides, thinking about what to do, what his next action should be and who he should talk to. His thoughts were jumbled up and he sighed in discontentment, shifting to his back. His phone buzzed notifying him that a message had come in. He picked it up and saw that P'Arthit had texted him
'Morning ahh, I hope you are feeling better. If you are, let's meet at my place later tonight. I have something to tell you. OK then........ 😘 (that's to make you smile don't get ahead of yourself.)

KongPob chuckled momentarily forgetting his woes. He texted back a reply before finding the energy to go downstairs and face his family.
"Oh Khun KongPob, you are finally awake. Ahhh, let me reheat your meal then so that you can have a hearty breakfast," P'Pam said as she spotted KongPob descending from the stairs. KongPob thanked her before taking a seat on the dinner table.
"Is anything wrong my dear? You seem a bit distraught," his mother asked her motherly instincts kicking in, quick to notice a shift in his behaviour.
"Sawadee krap Må. No krap, I am just a but exhausted from work. I had a lot of things to od yesterday that's why I woke up late. I apologise for keeping you waiting." KongPob replied. His mother didn't seem satisfied with his short explanation and she signalled her husband to take the wheel and question him.
"Why? Do you have any problems at work son? Any inconveniences?"
"No krap. There was just a few misunderstandings her and there. Nothing serious På. Don't worry." KongPob reassured his parents not to cause them unneeded worry.
"Ok then. We trust your take on it. If you say everything is fine then everything is well. We will leave you to go to work then. Will you be staying home tonight?"
"I don't think so På but I will inform you incase anything changes."
His parents were now satisfied with that and they soon left for their jobs. KongPob spent his day tending to the flowers outside with P'Pam and enjoying his time eating Thai sweets. It was late afternoon, when he sat on the swinging bench in the lovely shade to take a break from trimming the roses. He didn't realise he had been soo off until he felt P'Pam sit next to him, shaking him out of his reverie.
"What is the matter Khun KongPob? I've noticed that you have been more quieter than usual since you came home last night. Something is bothering your mind because you usually don't pay much attention to your issues since you always find a way to solve them. Come on my boy, tell your P'Pam what's on your mind?" P'Pam softly pushed as they began rocking back and forth slowly.
"P'Pam....... I- have you ever kept something from someone you love?" KongPob finally asked looking up at the sky.
"That depends Khun KongPob, is what you're keeping a secret something wrong you committed or what?" P'Pam threw back
"No! No P'Pam. Something happened by mistake and that mistake can bring an issue between me and the person who is special to me. I don't want to tell them because I know it will set us back but I also feel as though keeping it would be aiding the secret and it would be a lie eventually. That is my crossroads P'Pam. What should I do?"
"Ohhhho Khun KongPob, that's quite a predicament you've found yourself in. I understand it though and I truly empathise with you. Well, had I been in that position, I would keep it in for now then later when you and that person are in a better position, tell them so that the secret may not turn into a burden. I know you always do the right thing Khun KongPob because that's who you are and you shouldn't feel guilty of what happened as long as it was not your intention to make the mistake." P'Pam advised then woke up and headed back to the kitchen.
"That must be a very special person Khun KongPob of you are that much troubled. I hope everything goes well with the two of you." P'Pam smiled sweetly as she walked away and KongPob felt a bit better at his situation.

KongPob arrived at P'Arthit's place around 5pm. P'Arthit was not yet home so KongPob had time to compose himself. He found the place a bit meesy and couldn't help but feel like P'Arthit needed him to keep things in order. He set to launder the clothes, cleaned up the floors and threw away the trash. He then went to buy some smoked chicken pieces and sticky rice for dinner. He sat there alone for almost an hour before his heard the lock of the door turn and in walked the man of the hour.
"P'Arthit krap," KongPob exclaimed as he immediately embraced P'Arthit who barely had time to close the door.
"Hoiiiii KongPob! What's wrong with you?" Arthit asked as he stood awkwardly in KongPob's arms.
"Nothing P'Arthit krap. I just missed you that's all." KongPob replied as he steeps back to look at P'Arthit.
"Miss me!? Eiiiii KongPob, it's only been two days. Hoiii, someone would think that you haven't seen me in a month." P'Arthit said as he walked past him and shaking his head.

"Isn't it normal for couples to miss each other even after having been togeyger a few hours ago..... I am just being a normal boyfriend who genuinely missed his boyfriend for two days. Didn't you miss me?" KongPob replied while Arthit have him his signature wary eyes and uncomfortable look before he switched the topic.
"Ahhh, let's eat! I have been starving the whole day and I need some food in my system or else." P'Arthit hastily spoke, sitting down and began plating himself.
"What are you still doing over there KongPob! Come and eat," he ordered as he plated KongPob's plate as well and began feasting. KongPob sat down smiling before reaching in for a piece of chicken and chewed ever so slowly, staring straight at P'Arthit. P'Arthit avoided eye catching ntacf as much as possible then finally kicked KongPob under the table to make him stop with the stares. KongPob hissed in pain and exlamied at P'Arthit but in his heart he was smiling to the moon and back at the sense of familiarity and rightness of the moment.

"Oh by the way P'Arthit krap, what wa it you had to tell me?" KongPob finally remembered as he got in to bed
"What...... Ohhhhhhh! Eii KongPob, how would you like to go to the beach this weekend?" P'Arthit asked turning to face him.
"The beach? Why the interest all of a sudden?"KongPob curiously asked.

"Ahh, its just that Bright and the buys were having a weekend out at a nearby beach and invited us to join. It sounded fun and it would be a nice way to relax and enjoy the break. Also I wanted to make you forget about your worries for a bit and escape for a while. So what do you say?" P'Arthit explained waiting for an answer and was meet by a glowing KongPob.
"Of course. I'd like that very much krap."
"Ok then. I'll tell Bright we are in and we will leave on Friday night so be ready by then." P'Arthit instructed. KongPob nodded, taking mental mites before the two then settled to sleep. They were about 45 minutes in when P'Arthit shifted to his right and scooted a bit closer to KongPob.
"And yes..... I missed you very much too." he whispered in the dark before flunging his arm over KongPob and slept. KongPob felt like waking him up and asking P'Arthit to repeat what he said but left it alone. He would reel in the moment by himself. 'Oh P'Arthit what am I going to do with you?'
