I noticed how Jace's T-shirt got wetter and wetter, but he didn't back off. Jace just pushed me harder and harder. I couldn't understand how happy I could be to have him, as I deserved him. It broke my heart to hear how our relationship had gone so far. How he had suffered because of my father and then when we were finally happy I had to walk in front of a car and lose all my memories of him, but why did I want to walk out the door alone at the wedding. I'd love to know because the three of them and especially Jace deserved to know what made me go out into the fresh air alone. I became more and more aware of how little I deserved Jace, because his t-shirt was soaking wet by now, but he didn't let me get carried away and kept stroking my back to calm me down. He also kept mumbling something in my ear, but I couldn't understand it, as I was trapped in my own little world. I didn't even notice at first that Jace had pushed me slightly away from him and tried to make eye contact with me while he tried to tell me something. I looked around the room and noticed that two new people had entered the room. "Luke", I only breathed when I really noticed the man and woman in front of me and jumped up to fall into Luke's arms. "Kiddo", he only said when he took me in his arms and gave me a kiss on the head. Tears were running down my cheek again, I couldn't believe it, Luke held me in his arms and it all felt so familiar. He was the only person who was still something like family to me, who treated me like his own child. Luke pushed me away and took my face in his hands with both of his hands while he looked deep into my eyes. "I'm so sorry about everything, Clary. I shouldn't have disappeared so easily after your mother's death, I should have been there for you," he said to me, but I only shook my head. "No Luke, I'm not angry with you, you loved her so much, you needed your rest," I said and I really meant it. My gaze wandered over to Jace who was also being held tightly in his mother's arms right now, I had to smile because he had earned it. Luke stroked my cheek and made me look at him again. He smiled and nodded to me and then added a head movement in the direction of Jace. He wanted to let me know that it was okay and that I should go to Jace. I smiled gratefully to him again and slowly walked towards Jace and his mother. Meanwhile Maryse broke away from Jace and took me in her arms as I came to them. It was not an unpleasant hug, but a very warm and motherly one. "I told you this before at Alec and Magnus' wedding, but since you can't remember it and I'm happy to tell you over and over again, I'll gladly do it again. I would never want to replace your mother for you and I never will for Luke," she said to me, I smiled at her and pressed her very firmly once more.

When Clary ran into Luke's arms, I felt the joy overtake me. I was happy that she could finally embrace the only father figure she ever had. In the meantime, my adoptive mother Maryse came up to me and took me in her arms. It felt good and I could finally let go of all the tension of the last weeks in her arms. "I am so glad that she is awake again and that you have made up again," she whispered in my ear. "Wait until she realizes that she has a rune on her neck. She hasn't noticed it yet and for her it's a tattoo. I don't even know how to explain it to her," I whispered back into her ear. When I noticed the clary approaching again, we released the hug and Maryse greeted my little one. How should I explain her about the rune and best before she notices it herself, because otherwise there would be even more stress. Completely lost in thought I did not notice that the two women had released themselves from the embrace, only when I felt Clarys hand on my breast I came back to reality. I smiled, gave her a kiss on the forehead and pulled her into my arms. I looked at my parapatai over Clary's head and pointed with my gaze at the rune on her neck. It took a moment until he understood that I meant the rune but then he started to talk quietly to Magnus and Izzy. "Clary", Izzy said shortly afterwards and so my friend broke free from my arms again. "Yes?", she said to Izzy and looked at her waiting. "Do you remember what happened after the fight with Jace?", Isabell asked and looked at her waiting. "All I can remember is running into Magnus and then running to a run-down church that looked familiar but I couldn't place where from. Then I went home and wanted to sleep, which I did until I felt a twinge and called Jace, as I was not feeling well at that moment. Why do you ask?", Clary said and looked at Izzy asking.

"You know, Biscuit, we have something to explain to you. You were out for two weeks, and we were so worried about you, because nothing helped. You can be as angry as you want at us now, but we believe that there is a symbol that gives a person strength and helps them heal," I said, noting how Clary looked at me with increasing disbelief. "What are you trying to tell me Magnus?", Clary asked me completely confused. "I heard that you and Jace couldn't keep your hands off each other, so you surely could have seen all the signs on Jace's body," I said and with this statement made Clary blush and look apologetically at Luke. "But your bedtime activities are not my dear. Rather about the signs, you can see in Luke that he also believes in her, just like your mother always believed in her, but always hid her from her to protect you from nasty sayings from other children. Anyway, we've also given you this symbol. It is also called rune and it seems to have really helped", I said and already realized that Clary was bubbling over. "You have tattooed me?", Clary shouted at me. "Kiddo, it's not really a tattoo, but trust me, your mother would have done the same in this situation", Luke said. I saw how Clary apparently thought about Luke's words. Jace pulled her back into his arms and seemed to say something in her ear. As they released themselves from the embrace again, I saw Jace take her face in both hands and wipe the tears from her cheeks. Alec put his arm around me and I smiled at him. "I'm sorry Clary", I heard Jace say to Clary and she nodded. "It's actually my body and I don't know what to think of these runes, but if you never do this again without my permission, then I forgive you," Clary said. "Of course Biscuit, we won't do this anymore without asking you," I confirmed and everyone around me did the same.

"Clary, you have to promise us one thing, though. We suspect that former accomplices of your father tried to test one of their strange experiments on you. "Please stay close to one of us and stay in Jace's apartment. If Jace has to work, one of the rest of us will keep you company," I said as I moved my arm away from my husband and approached my parapatai and his girlfriend. "Just until we have real evidence to back up our suspicions. After that you can go out on your own again and do something. Promise?" I said to Clary. To support my words, I put a hand on her shoulder as I spoke. "I promise. But what did my father do that was so bad that his accomplices What experiments?", she asked. Jace and I exchanged looks. "Clary I think we should wait to see if your memory will come back, because it was said they might come back. That hurt you so much back then and I don't want you to go through the same thing again," said Jace and put a hand to her cheek. "Okay," was all Clary said.
