Jungkook
I actually hate these damn parties. Everywhere I look, I see stuck up rich people. Rich fake asses people. If this ain't for business and money, they won't waste their time socializing and attending parties like this.
This will benefit them too, of course. To build a strong alliance with everyone, they have to act like they care, like they're interested with your life, but the only thing they care of is money. Maybe parties like this have their double purpose. First, to celebrate. Second, to show off their power.
I left Jimin for a while and decided to greet my dad first. I saw him downstairs socializing to the guests one by one, table by table.
"Jungkook?" A voice called out in earnest and I turn to see my father striding towards me.
"Dad." I mumbled. My step mom was walking behind him, pushing the stroller of her daughter. She smiled at me but I ignored it, turning my attention to my dad who's smile is growing wider the closer he gets before his arms are around me and pulling me for a hug. "You really came, huh?"
I stifled back my annoyance when I saw how genuine his smile was. It's his birthday so maybe I should set aside all of my problems first.
"Because you asked me to dad." I said dryly and he chuckled. My eyes landed on his wife and I bowed to greet her, she just smiled before smoothing my suit. "Hi there, baby girl." I bent down to reach Yiren's level, she's already one year old. I tickled her chin and she cutely giggled in response.
"You dad was expecting you to come early, he even bragged to everyone that you're coming." She said, brushing her arms off to my dad's shoulder.
"You know I'm a late comer, next time don't expect me to come early because I won't." I said and they both chortled, Gyuri's eyes met mine before looking at her parents and laughing too as if she already understand what we were talking about.
They looked happy as a family. The last time that he smiled and laughed exactly like that was when my mother was still alive. But this woman-my step mom- makes him smile like that. She makes him happy, that even with the fact that they cheated on my mom back then, after they remarried, my dad is finally happy with her again. She got good points for that one.
"Maybe you should come to our house often, it feels empty without you." She said, clasping her hand on my shoulder. It feels empty without me, even though I started to live on my own when she moved in there after marrying my dad? No. "Well, to change the topic, you look good tonight."
"Well of course he does, I'm his father." Dad raised his chin and huffed. "But I'm sure he would look even better with a date." He added. "I'm pretty sure that you're now out of troubles since I don't receive any reports from my sources. I hope you're doing good, not just with business but also with your lovelife."
Ah, I know. Here we go again with this girlfriend and shits.
"Dad, I'm out of troubles now. Could you please stop hiring people to spy me? I'm an adult." I explained to him because I know who is that source he was talking about. "And about my lovelife...we're doing good. I'm happy."
"Hun, don't pressure him." His wife shake her head, looking at me, telling me to ignore what my father said.
"Listen. I know it maybe a shocker but I don't want to pressure you, son." He muttered. "I'm not young as I used to be. The next time you come to our house, I want to meet your girlfriend and talk about the marriage, I want grandkids too, Jungkook."
"What? Girlfriend?" I asked in surprised, my voice getting a little bit louder and my face almost twisted from the word girlfriend. "Are you serious?"
