Taehyung himself was ready to be punched just right after Jungkook saw him talking to Jimin. At this point, Jungkook finally knew why Jimin wasn't answering his calls or messages and why he was late.
On the other hand, he wanted to punch Taehyung but the fact that he can't be mad at the two is something that makes him go crazier. He's not in the right place to be mad because of this so—called— friend label he has with Jimin. Plus, it was just a friendly date like what they had planned. Although he doesn't know the reason why they were together, he shouldn't be impulsive with his actions and words. This time, everything must be settled in a nice and not a violent way.
He was trying to change for Jimin, and most importantly, he was trying to change for himself.
When Taehyung saw Jungkook went back inside the shop, it makes him wonder why he didn't do anything. The typical Jungkook he knows would run towards him and reward him a punch, but what happened next was different. He turned his back right after he saw them.
Though he was still pondering about it, he managed to brush it off of his mind.
"You should go now, Jungkook is waiting for you." He told Jimin.
The smaller man sighed. "I know this is also hard for you but—"
"I said you should go. I'm okay don't worry." He said, cutting him off with a smile before he could make the conversation unnecessarily complicated. He'd had enough heartaches for the day.
"I'm really sorry for giving you false hope. I know you will find the right person for you someday. But we can still be friends, right? Just like before." Jimin sadly replied and the smaller man's expression hurts him more. "Have a safe flight tomorrow. Always take care of yourself. I hope the next time we meet again, you're finally happy."
"I'm happy though." He lied, his eyes getting teary but he turned around and wiped it before Jimin notice. "Be happy with him, tell me if he hurts you, I'm ready to fly back here in Korea just to take you away from him again."
"Silly. Don't worry, I know he won't do it again." Jimin smiled and his heart goes weaker. "Take care, V."
"Yeah, now go. I can imagine Jungkook's nose flaring, you know he hates waiting." He told him, watching Jimin's back retreating away from from him.
"Thank you." Jimin mouthed from afar, waving his hand and running inside the coffee shop.
"Welcome." He answered, unable to wipe off the smile from his face despite of the pain he was feeling inside.
I love you, Jimin. Be happy with him. The unspoken words were written all over his face when everything finally sink in. His knees are growing weaker so he had to lean his back on his car to support himself from falling. The ground is getting wet by the falling tears from his eyes.
"Wow, what is this liquid coming out from my eyes?" He mumbled, laughing in anguish but still trying to give comfort to himself by thinking that better things will come for him soon. "Come on, stop crying, you idiot."
Maybe this is his destiny with Jimin. They're not meant to be and he has to accept the fact, the fact that not everything he wants in life will end up with him.
It was ironic that he was feeling this way. If it was possible, he just wanted to go back in time and pretend that nothing ever happened at all. How he wished that he didn't let his curiousity about Jimin grow, that maybe, he didn't approach him that time when Jungkook caused a trouble in his bar because that was where things started.
When in the first place at all, Jimin didn't do anything, he didn't entertain him or what, it was him who made a way, he dug his own grave, he let himself drown while knowing the fact that Park Jimin couldn't save him by having the same feelings towards him.
