Joining Crawford.

I gazed at the building in front of me.

It was huge .
The fact that I never went to a classified high school made me gasp at the infrastructure of the university.

People were moving in and out of the college premises .
I clutched the brochure nervously and made my way towards the front office .

The admission department was huge and there were a lot of people in and around making it difficult for me to get to the administration incharge .
Chloe was on the pediatric admin section and went there to enroll her name .

I somehow managed to get my name checked on the list and went to the officer who was enrolling  for gynaecology section .

" Miss Lace , please have a seat ."
The man spoke in a gruff voice . He was a  short man with round spectacles hanging on his nose.

" Yes , sir ."
He looked at me and then back at the papers in his hand .

"  Please, do call me Mathews ."

" Umm .. okay sir , I mean Mr . Mathews"

" You are enrolled for the gynaecology department ,  aren't you?

" Yes , sir . I am "

" You will have to fill these forms , attach your photograph and sign it over here ." He said.

"Okay Mr Mathews , just give me a minute." I spoke and took my pen out of my bag.

I started filling in my details and attached my photo on the precise column and signed it .

I looked at the form one last time before handing it over to the officer and  sighed ...
I am finally getting in to medicine leaving behind football.

Do I really need to do this , why I am studying medicine when all I wanted was football and studying business management .

My rational mind questioned me but I shut that thought , cause I knew that if I didn't get to study here my mom is going to suffer.

Already  mom's disease is taking toll on her health and I didn't want my dad to abuse her ,  moreover Chloe can  never stay away from me.

I had to think about Chloe too 'cause she gave up on high school to stay close to me just because I couldn't afford it .

I had actually joined Medicine because it was her interest.
I never could give up on her.

" Hmm...Miss Lace ,We are done with the official registration. 
You can join the classes day after tomorrow."
Mr Matthew spoke after looking at my certificates for one last time.

He handed me ,my file back and I said a quick thank you and left to search for Chloe .

I was looking for Chloe in the pediatric section , but was confused as she was nowhere to be seen.

There was a lady at the counter who types away furiously on her computer.
I asked the lady about the pediatric registration and  she looked at me for a second and spoke finally.

"It's been 30 mins since we wrapped up "
Her tone was clipped and she didn't hide the fact that fact that she was annoyed with me.

"Oh.. I am sorry, I was looking for my friend, Her name is Chloe , Chloe Jackson . She was her to join pediatrics . Have you seen her anywhere ??"

"Oh , her...
She was requesting for a change in her subject . Maybe she is talking to the Dean You can check in Dean's cabin"

Change in the subject ?
Chloe never spoke to me about it .
