Nine | Heartache
"Mommy." Taehyun playfully said since I wasn't answering him as I looked through our closet. "Mommy. Mommy. Mommy."
"Taehyun. Taehyun. Taehyun. Taehyun." I said back to him. He smiled and let out a laugh.
"Mommy silly." He giggled.
"What is it, Taehyun?" I asked him with a smile.
"Tae go work?" He asked as I was getting my uniform out. I changed him out of his pajamas and got him into regular pants and a shirt.
"Yes, we have to go to work today. You're coming with me so Taehyun go to work too." I said.
"Oh." He said before lightening up since the guys would likely to be there. I still haven't told Taehyun that they'd be leaving soon for a month on their tour.
The day went on like repeat until we arrived to the NCT practice room. There were a ton of scuff marks that I had to really work out.
"I think we drag our feet when we dance sometimes." Jaehyun said as he watched me apply pressure with the mop to get rid of the lines.
My eyes glanced around to see Mark avoiding Taehyun despite Taehyun trying to play with him. Mark just had his hands clasped together behind his back as he smiled politely to Taehyun.
He would then moved around as if he was casually taking a stroll around the room, but Taehyun would run up to him.
"Taehyun." I called him over. Taehyun had his arms wrapped around Mark's legs while he was staring up at him, wanting desperately to play together.
It saddened my heart that Taehyun didn't understand why Mark wasn't as involved with him like he usually was.
Taehyun looked over to me before dropping his arms and running over to see what I wanted.
I pulled my mask down and squatted to be the height of Taehyun. He stood close to me so that his body was leaning against me. He had a small pout and look of sadness on his face.
"Taehyun, he's not in the mood to play with you right now." I said, trying to explain to him without hurting his feelings.
"Why mommy?" He asked sadly.
"It's not your fault, Taehyun-ah." I said as he leaned his head against my shoulder. I lowered my gaze to the floor as I stayed quiet for a moment.
After composing myself and successfully stopping my tears from forming, I spoke again.
"If you want, the other guys can play with you. If you don't want to play anymore, you can sit down on the bench until mommy is done. Mommy is almost finished. All I have to do is mop the lines out of the floor." I told him.
I saw the guys were looking at the exchange between Taehyun and I versus Taehyun and Mark. They noticed how down Taehyun was, and they probably knew I was Mark's soulmate by now. He must've told them.
