Ten | The Past

A few weeks had passed and Mark had fully taken over the role of being Taehyun's dad. Taehyun listened to him well and followed whatever Mark told him to do.

Mark had adjusted to being called 'daddy' by Taehyun and was doing things, such as, putting Taehyun down for nap time, cooking for him, and sometimes putting him to bed at night.

It took him a while to get used to the fact that he signed up to be a dad all of a sudden, but he took it very well.

Now, I didn't hear 'mommy' as often like it used to be when it was just me. It was a mix of 'mommy' and 'daddy' ever since Mark started staying over my dorm.

Mark did stay at my place majority of the time, but we did not escalate things any further than just kissing.

It was because of his religious beliefs and also the fact that Taehyun was still sleeping in my room. I planned on moving him to the second bedroom here because he was getting at the point of needing to learn how to sleep by himself.

I personally believed he was ready for it because he was pretty independent and mature for a two year old.

Of course, I would leave the door slightly open in my room and his room so he could run over if he needed me. I would also leave the animal nightlight on in his room and keep a dim lamp on in the living room since the living room separated the rooms.

"Taehyunie, tonight you'll sleep in your own room!" I said as I made it sound like it was such a big deal.

Taehyun had a look of dismay on his face since he was a little scared to sleep by himself.

"Don't worry, Taehyun-ah. Mommy will stay for a little bit in your room so you can fall asleep. I will leave a bunch of lights on so you can see stuff if you wake up at night." I said.

He looked at me while he finished his pancake. Even though he was a little scared, I think he looked forward to it a tiny bit because Mark and I had decorated the room to his liking.

There was baby proof furniture and also baby proof lock on the door handle so he wouldn't trap himself inside the room. I also did that to my room when we got here, but now it was over there too.

Mark had gotten these big wall stickers and had made the room a sea themed on one side of the room even though the walls were white. There were massive stickers that were meant for wall decorating and could be easily peeled off when we wanted it gone.

He had gotten Nemo and the characters all on the wall nearest his bed. The wall across from him was cute little cartoon animals with clouds and stuff.

The room had a fuzzy rug taking up most of the floor and there was a corner for his toys from the guys.

We tried to arrange things and testing out the room with the lights out and just the nightlight. The nightlight was pretty bright so it was usually on blue or purple.
