Emma’s POV

I breathed a sigh of relief once David left the room.

“What happened?”, Harish eyed me suspiciously.

“What’s new? David and I fought...again.”, I sighed heavily before going back to my seat.

“Okay…but it did go according to our plan?”, he asked eagerly.

“Oh, it went way better than what we had planned. I really pissed him off.”, I beamed, proud of how I was able to get under David’s skin.

Normally, he was the one who irked me and I was never able to get back at him. I smiled to myself, thinking of how our roles have reversed.

“Besides that, did you notice how he looked at you? I mean...did he like what he saw?”, Harish sat the edge of my desk and began to fold the sleeves of his shirt.

“I mean I guess…”, I blushed, just thinking about how David looked at me when I walked into office.

I remembered how his eyes were filled with lust and desire as they raked over my body hungrily.

He had never looked at me like this before. It felt surreal that David would even be attracted to me.

We almost kissed once after the night of the party, when he brought me back to his place.

However, I brushed it off as we were confused about the entire situation and were not in the right state of mind.

After that incident, he never showed any interest in me. As reminded by David countless times, I’m nothing more than an inconvenience in his life.

"Omg, you really can't help blushing whenever I mention about David to you!”, Harish teased and laughed at me.

“No!”, I squeaked in embarrassment.

“Emma, there’s nothing wrong in admitting that you are attracted to David. Who wouldn’t be? Many women would kill to be with him.”

“Not me! Having lived with him for two years, I can attest to the fact that no woman would want to be with him.”, I rolled my eyes at him.

“Well, Sophia does…”, Harish chuckled.

“Arghh, why do you have to remind me about her?”, I groaned.

“We can’t just forget about her. If we need to execute our plan properly, we have to get Sophia out of the picture.”, he pointed out.

Harish had a valid point.

Based on his vague description of the entire plan, I had to get David to fall in love with me and leave him right after he did.

Apart from this, he never divulged any other information as to what exactly I had to do.

Even today's idea of changing my appearance to attract David's attention and aggravate him was orchaestrated by him and I merely followed along.

If Sophia were to be around, she would never let David get close to me. She would only act as a distraction and probably sabotage all our plans.
