Adeline's POV
"Look closer" I hear a voice say from the living room as I walk down stairs
"Dad has his monocle. Mom stands up. Monocle's gone" Diego mutters as I enter the living room, full with my siblings as they crowd around a small tv
"Oh yeah!" Klaus chuckles, turning to glance at me as I walk up beside them all
They were watching some sort of video footage of Dad. What concoction of ideas were they making up now? Luther's conspiracy theories had really been getting on my nerve.
"She wasn't poisoning him. She was... taking it" Diego goes on as he walks passed us all "To clean it"
"Then where is it?" Luther asks, looking around at all of us "No, I've searched the house, including her things. She doesn't have it"
The was a small pause as the eyes fell back on Diego as he looked around uncomfortably "Thats because I took it from her" He finally says, a guilty tone as he looks up from the floor "After the funeral"
There was another tense pause. All eyes looking around at each other as the air became thick to breathe. I could feel all of their energies mixing together as each person in that room came up with their own opinion, forming teams against each other.
"You've had the monocle this whole time? What the hell, Diego!" Allison bursts out in frustration, glaring at him as the rest of us just watched
"Give it to me" Luther immediately says, holding his hand out with a glare in his eye
"I threw it away" Diego simply utters as he makes uncomfortable eye contact with Luther
"You what?" Luther scoffs as he steps forward in anger
My heart was slightly racing from the energy in the room. I couldn't control negative energy as well as positive. And the amount that was floating around this room made me feel nervous and cold.
"Look, I knew that if you found it on Mom, you'd lose your shit. Just like you're doing right now" He says, stepping forward as he points a knife at Luther
"Diego, you son of a bitch" He mumbles, stepping closer
"Hey, no. Calm down" Vanya says, trying to resolve the conflict she feared so much "Look, I know Dad wasn't exactly an open book. But I do remember one thing he said. Mom was, well, designed to be a caretaker, but... also as a protector" She explains as all eyes fell to the ground in thought
"What does that mean?" Allison asks
"She was programmed to intervene if someone's life was in jeopardy"
"Well, if her hardware is degrading, then..." Luther begins, his tone much more calm now, giving me the relief from the intensity in the room that I needed "We need to turn her off"
It was short lived. Luther's words making the whole room spike again.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, wait. She's not just a vacuum cleaner you can just throw in the closet!" Diego insists, Allison's expression dampening as she folds her arms in guilty thought "She feels thing, I've seen it!"
"She just stood there, Diego, and watched our Father die!" Luther insists
"I'm with Luther" Allison simply utters, looking down at the crystal glass she was drinking whiskey from
"Surprise, surprise" Diego mumbles, rolling his eyes
"Shut up" Allison immediately retorts
A silence arose in the room as everyone's eyes darted around again. Frowns and guilty looks flooded my gaze as I tried to avoid all conflict and question. Luther and Diego's eyes fell on Vanya, as she stepped back nervously
