Klaus's POV
"Where could she be?" I yell across the room at my siblings, running my hands through my hair in panic
Diego's eyes dart up to me as I pace across the lounge in front of them "Wait, so how do you guys know she's in trouble and not just... run off, to find peace for a while, or something?"
I look at Pogo, his eyes already locked with mine as he gently shakes his head. None of my siblings noticed this, but I knew what Allison and Pogo had explained was not for the others to know just yet.
Pogo clears his throat, as I look down at the floor nervously "Someone left a note on the doorstep this morning"
Everyone darts their eyes to meet Pogo's as he speaks calmly
"So where is it?" Luther asks cautiously, his eyes moving up to me as I shrug my shoulders, pulling at my lip violently with my fingers as I think
"Uh, we lost it" Allison buts in, shaking her head
Diego sighs, turning away from us "Are you serious? The one thing that could have helped us find her... and you lost it" He scoffs, crossing his arms with a glare around the room "And what happened to you?" He asks, gesturing to my bruised face
I shake my head, waving him off with my hand "Oh, Nothing. I just tripped over last night trying to go to the bathroom"
He gives me a funny look. I knew he didn't believe my bullshit lie. Diego, unfortunately for us, was much smarter than he let on. Not necessarily book smart, like Five was. But he was generally street smart. He knew how people responded to certain things.
That's why he often stopped Luther when he tried to pick fights with us when we were kids.
"So what do we do?... Wonder the streets calling her name until we stumble across her? She could be anywhere by now" Luther retorts, frustrated by the lack of evidence
Allison blinks away nervously, shrugging her shoulders as Luther turns to her for support on the situation.
"I don't know what we are going to do. But we need to find her" Diego says, slightly calmer now "The good thing is, if whoever took her left a note to say they had her, that means they are willing to negotiate to give her back. They want something we have... and I guarantee it's those idiots who are friends with Five, looking for their briefcase"
I look down with a frown. Diego was right, and what he was saying made sense. However, the problem was, beyond their knowledge, the people who had her, didn't leave a note. They had currently said nothing about her being gone.
Did that mean it was more of a revenge than an exchange?
"Look, you can sit around here waiting for someone to tell us more. But I'm going to go find her. At least that way, I'll be ahead of those idiots" Diego says, sifting around his pocket for his keys
"No wait, Diego" Allison croaks out
But he didn't pay her any mind. He simply walked out of the room. I quickly run after him. He turns to me with a stern look "I'm not taking you. You're high"
I frown down at the floor "No I'm not"
"Don't lie to me. I can see how glossy your eyes are" I retorts, turning to glance at me "I need someone who is gonna help, not slow me down"
I screw my face up at his comment "Diego, come on! Please"
He doesn't respond, he simply keeps walking. I jog up beside him, stopping in front of him as we both come to a stop beside the front door.
