As the quiet morning dew dripped off of the Umbrella Academy's sharp concrete edges, the house gave each sibling an eerie, tense feeling. The only noise that had been exchanged when the four got home the night before, was the quiet footsteps that could be heard as they slowly drifted around different parts of the mansion.
All of them had been restless last night. Reoccurring nightmares of their discovery every time they closed their eyes.
One of the Hargreeves siblings had taken Adelines death harder than the rest. Klaus, who had been up fighting with Ben all night about taking a handful of the pills in his dresser, was beginning to slip further down the slope.
Ben and him had both been in a screaming match about it. Klaus wanted to forget, the image of his good friend being repeatedly beaten to death flashing in his mind every time he closed his eyes beginning to taunt him deeply. However, Ben didn't want Klaus to undo everything he had already done.
Ben knew Klaus wasn't clean, but he was beginning to withdraw. The distraction of Adeline keeping him from the constant need of drugs, no longer there to stop him.
As Klaus stumbled down to the lounge, holding his head as he grunts at the gathering of his siblings, he immediately heads for the bar. At least Ben couldn't complain about the alcohol that much, or he would have to complain about all his siblings.
Luther, Allison and Diego gathered in the lounge, each of them sharing awkward solemn looks for each other as they all sat very much apart from each other.
Luther had called for a meeting that morning to discuss some things on his mind. Klaus had tried to avoid that meeting, but his craving for a morning drink made him forget about it, only for him to stumble upon it himself, no longer having a choice about attending.
"Klaus, please sit down. We have to talk" Luther says, gesturing to the couch across from Klaus as he sighs and rolls his eyes
"Yeah, that sounds like a real rage, but my schedule's already chock-full" He sighs, walking behind the bar as he viciously bites back at Luther
Never had Luther been challenged by Klaus, he didn't want to start now "No time for that, Klaus. The worlds ending in three days" He bluntly responds, turning away from him
Klaus frowns, looking up at Diego as he just looks away at the ground in front of him. Klaus could feel Diego was taking it just as hard as he was. He felt, almost, sorry for him.
"Three days..." Allison sighs out through the heavy silence as she hands Luther a warm coffee
Luther nods, taking it from her "That's what Five said"
All of them thought about Five, wondering where he had disappeared to after they fled from Hazel and Cha-Cha. It was almost like he vanished in a split second. Luther had tried to wrap his head around it for days, but he couldn't come up with anything logical.
Klaus sighed, deciding to take part in the conversation unfolding in front of him "The old bastard did mention the apocalypse to me and-..." He paused, her name lingering on his tongue as he coached himself to stay together "He just mentioned it" He bluntly corrects himself, dodging his gaze away from the others, as they pretend not to pick it up
"He just left out the part about how soon..." Klaus finally says, grabbing the warm coffee from Allisons hands as she offers a small smile and moves around to where Diego was sitting
He takes it gladly from her hands, pulling a small bottle from in behind his sling as pouring a bit into the coffee, hoping no one else would notice.
